Iran plans to stage military drills

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iran said on Tuesday it intends to hold two war games in 2011.

 

Commander of the Army’s Ground Forces Brigadier-General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said on Tuesday the country intends to hold massive military drills and it will make further details public as soon as it approves the decision.

He also added, “Iran is to show some of its army’s newest equipment next Monday, on April 18 to make Iranian nation sure that there is a mighty and prepared army in the country and send a message to foreigners to put aside vain thought of aggression against Iran.”

Pourdastan speaking in a press conference said the fair includes the army’s latest achievements on telecommunications, unmanned drones, missile systems, upgraded armored equipments and air defense systems.

He also added Iran is to have an air drill on April 18 if weather condition allows.

Pourdastan then referred to recent remarks of Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Mohammed al-Khalifa against Iran and said his remarks lack “logical base.”
