Kiarash Bahari has entered the 14th day of his hunger strike.
He is one of three Iranian hunger strikers holding a protest from a tent erected on the pavement in front of Amnesty International in Clerkenwell.
At the same time three more of their friends continue the hunger strike from a tent outside the Home Office in Croydon. The six men are all Iranian refugees who have recently had their asylum applications turned down and instructed to leave the UK immediately, despite overwhelming evidence that they would be almost certain to be imprisoned, and even executed, if forced to return to Iran.
Having been persecuted by the Iranian regime for his political beliefs and with no access to legal help, Kiarash is so desperate not to be deported, he has sewn his lips together.
