Reza Nasseri, who arrived in Edmonton from Iran in 1964 with $75 in his pocket, has offered to build Valour Place at cost.
To date, some $6.9 million has been raised for the $10-million home for soldiers and their families in Edmonton for medical treatment and rehabilitation.
“Reza’s gift is priceless,” declared Dennis Erker, the honorary president of the Loyal Edmonton Regiment who is spearheading the drive to build the home at 11109 111th Ave.
“He will save us a significant amount of money. It will be added to an endowment fund to help support the home and afford us to offer free accommodation at times.”
