Tehran—Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said Iran’s naval forces will continue their powerful and strategic presence in the interna-tional waters. Sayyari told IRNA that the Islamic Republic has adopted a defense doctrine.
On presence of Iran’s naval forces in the Gulf of Aden, Sayyari said it is due to de-fending the country’s interests.
He further said 30 other states from all over the world are also present in that Gulf in order to protect their interests.
Noting that Iranian vessels entered the Suez Canal for the first time after the 1979 Is-lamic Revolution, the Iranian commander said the trip proved the strength of the Is-lamic Republic strength.
The Zionist regime was the only one concerned about Iran’s strong presence in the Suez Canal, the commander added.
‘The Islamic Republic is now capable of both building destroyers and repairing them,’ said Sayyari. He also said the Iranain experts have capabilities to build different kinds of subma-rines.
The navy commander then warned the foreign vessels over any illegal entrance into the Persian Gulf region, saying that Iran is being protected carefully by the naval forces. —NNI
