TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian Armed Forces are now equipped with
the best anti-armor weapons and ammunition to confront all heavy armored
vehicles and tanks, a senior Iranian military commander stated on
Wednesday.
“Today we have access to the munitions needed for confronting all
types of armored vehicles in the region,” Commander of the Islamic
Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force Brigadier General Mohammad
Pakpour said.
“There is no armored vehicle that we don’t have (anti-armor) munitions for,” Pakpour stated.
The commander further said that the new anti-armor munitions
recently supplied to his forces will definitely leave positive impacts
on the type of Iran’s future battles as well as the threats posed to the
country.
Earlier this Month, Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad
Vahidi announced that the country has equipped its Armed Forces with
highly advanced anti-armor and anti-chopper weapons.
Asked about the features of the new anti-armor weapons, Vahidi
stated, “These weapons identify the weak points of the enemy tanks and
hit them from above.”
Also on Saturday, Iran started mass-production of anti-armor
ammunition in an official ceremony attended by the country’s Defense
Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi.
