The Cabinet of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has approved a decision to expand Israeli economic sanctions against Iran. Officials said the sanctions would include tightened restrictions on money-laundering and trading with Teheran.
The Cabinet has decided that Israel would formally declare Iran an enemy. Officials said the government would establish a directorate that would coordinate data and legislation to enforce sanctions.
“These steps include a series of administrative and regulatory measures that will place Israel at the international forefront regarding the imposition of sanctions on Iran,” a government statement said. “These steps will be advanced in the coming days by the various relevant ministries.”
