that she’s no longer around.
Don’t know where her bosoms gone
Tonight is flat chested

Taxis no longer take my solitude
I stay behind
till some come to make me a quiet place
like a camel in the desert
an old tortoise on the plain
or like the plane in a London sky
in which I can fly… but where?
Like yesterday’s rain urged me to buy this umbrella
or this snow that came down after the rain
and sent me out of the house
Give me a ring… do something
You’re not snow so I can melt you
you’re not rain so you can wet me
you’re a brush fire
that turns to cinder and moves on

مهرو
او مرا دور و من او را چنان دوره کرده ام
که دیگر دور است
نمی دانم کجا رفته اند پستان هاش
امشب آغوش گودی دارد
و من برای اینکه بمیرم
به حضرتِ یک علاقه محتاجم
ریشم را زده ام
! که چشمی با تو داشته باشم … نیستی که
تنهائیِ مرا دیگر تاکسی نمی برد
می مانم
تا کسی بیاید خلوتم کند
مثل یک شتر در صحرا
لاک پشتِ پیری در دشت
مثل یک طیاره از آسمان لندن
می توانم بروم … ولی کجا؟
مثل باران دیروز … که مجبورم کرد … چتری بخرم
یا همین برفی که بعد از آن آمد
و از خانه بیرونم کرد
زنگی بزن … کاری بکن
برف نیستی که آب ات کنم
باران نیستی که خیس ام کنی
آتشی
می سوزانی و می گذری
