Files link activist to Iran regime

A human rights activist who met Gordon Brown and visited the House of Lords is facing questions over his links to the brutal Iranian regime. Dr Saeed Shehabi, 56, runs the London-based Bahrain Freedom Movement, which seeks to topple the King of Bahrain’s dictatorship. But today it can be revealed that Dr Shehabi has made speeches supporting Iranian hardliners, and worked for 13 years in offices owned by the government of Iran. Iran believes it should own Bahrain, which was part of the Shia nation until 1970 and is often referred to as “the 14th province”.
