From that 2008 moment when I first heard a Rana Farhan song, I have been her devoted fan. Rana’s music masterfully fuses two things near and dear to my heart, Persian poetry and jazz and blues. She could do no wrong with me! So, on the threshold of their San Francisco concert at Yoshi’s on Sunday, October 2, it was a pleasure waiting for her and her musical partner and producer, Steven Toub on Chestnut Street in San Francisco’s Marina District on a beautiful sunny afternoon.
