This is my third week in Chile and every day there’s a new delightful experience. A lot of it has to do with being a tourist: you go to the best places a country has to offer and it’s rare if you aren’t awed, impressed or entertained. But the Chileans themselves are truly some of the nicest, helpful, no non-sense people I have encountered. The mild, sunny weather and constant blue skies this time of the year (it’s spring here) helps lift the general mood too. [see photo essay]
Here are some of my clips to give you a little sense and feel for Chile:
1- A group of young musicians walked into a working-class restaurant near Santiago’s Estación Central and started to play a cheerful song. Patrons obliged and started to dance:
2- Dance group entertaining a crowd in Plaza de Armas, in the center of the city:
3- Two street comedians doing a funny act. I don’t speak Spanish so how do I know they were funny? Just watch the crowd reaction:
