Mansoureh Mirfattah, researcher of Iran’s history, announced the publication of a new book entitled “Woman in Iran: from the Past to Present” and said: “The book portrays woman from ancient times (Mithraism) to the contemporary period with emphasis on hijab and modesty. Referring to the subject of hijab and modesty, she said: “Based on historical evidences we have shown in this research that hijab is rooted in ancient eras of Mithraism as well as the Achameneid, Parthian, and Sassanian periods to the Qajar and even the contemporary period.” >>>
