Rome is an amazing city, built since 750s BC, governed by SPQR — Senātus Populusque Rōmānus (“The Senate and People of Rome”). One of first republic in the world (after Greece) and the place where they experienced the first coup d’etats and populous dictators such as Cezar, Caligula or Neron! Visiting the city, very soon you notice Christians culture invaded the city and blocked any modern architecture being built since. For me it is the difference between Rome and Paris. You find a huge number of churches. Every street has its own church with beautiful painting. In the beginning you find them beautiful since you visit Sistine Chapel after this visit, other paintings become boring!
