John Lennon and Yoko Ono spent some time at the Queen Elizabeth, during a “bed in” to protest the Vietnam War carnage in 1969. We didn’t spend much time in their bed, nor participated in the crazy Quebecois student protests. Frankly, life is too short to waste on politics or slumber. Instead, during our day-long walks, I again used the phone camera on some of the architecture; while the better halves used their pricy equipment to capture Kodak moments. I hate ruining buildings with people, or diminishing people with buildings. People are hard to read in a wide shot – they deserve nice portraits. Buildings are extravagant statements – and so great in revealing our daily ideals and nightly dreams.
