Today an Egyptian judge, Ahmed Rafaat, sentenced former President Hosni Mubarak to life in prison for the killing of unarmed demonstrators during protests that ended his rule. During the peaceful demonstration of two years ago when Iranian people were asking for their rights, many were killed and brutalized by government forces. The murders and brutalities, which in the Islamic Republic is not limited to that event, was intensified after the Supreme Leader in a televised Friday prayer threatened the demonstrators with dire consequences.
