One of the few arenas, where we Iranians have shown our dignity, even though Ayatollahs have been misrepresenting us, has been in the Olympics. Until now.
I happen to notice that an Iranian had just won a Silver Medal at the London 2012 Paraolympics. I was so chuffed that I got my phone out and took a clip.

In fact I wanted to edit it, so that only the part for the Iranian receiving the Silver Medal would show. But then I found out, that something very odd had happened.
Have a look. You will see that the Chinese person bows and shakes the Duchess of Kent’s hand. Then we wait until the Silver Medal is brought out. At one point you will see the Iranian put his hands behind him.
The Duchess then gets the Silver medal and goes forward to put it on the Iranian athlete’s head. She then puts her hand forward. The Iranian bows and put his hands across his chest, almost apologising that he cannot shake her hand.
It is an embarrassment. He was obviously under strict orders. And once again politics has entered the Olympics.
As an Iranian Brit I would like to apologise to all British people for this situation. One day we will sort out this awful regime non violently and never be different to accepted world behaviour.
