Déjà vu all over again, some misguided Israelites and their agents in the U.S. coopted by Benjamin Netanyahu continue interfering in the very essence of the American government and the U.S. sovereignty through their leveraging and hedging in the election processes, boycotts and silencing of American oppositions and leading the U.S. to wars, all for self-serving prophetic ulterior motives. Such incidents are not anew as they succinctly conjure up Purim, the Persian Jewish spring festival when Esther and his cousin Mordechai “saved” the Jews from Haman the Vizier and only after Xerxes of the Persian Achaemenid Empire accepted Esther as her bride 2,500 years ago. The after fact that Mordechai replaced Haman and killed him and tens of thousands of Persian generals and army officers and their families, is still justified in Purim’s annual rituals and Jewry psyche. Ironically, Cyrus the Great, the Xerxes’s great grandfather and his successive offspring Darius and Artaxerxes, revered in the Torah (Ezra 6:4) as saviors saint of the Jews, conquered Jerusalem from the Babylonians and offered the scattered people of Jewry to return if they wished to rebuild the holy temple which had been burnt to ashes by Nebuchadnezzar!
The international community, with the exception of Israel and Saudi Arabia, has praised the nuclear deal between Iran and the U.S./P5+1 as a giant step in the right direction. President Obama reiterated his position on the deal when interviewed by Fareed Zakaria of CNN, preceded with his address at the American university late last week. When soon ratified and verifiably implemented, it will inextricably deescalate chaos and bring about much needed stability to the most volatile region in the world. It should only benefit all including Israel and Saudi Arabia, but it is also hoped to lead to socio-democratic and political reforms inside Iran.
The sheer fact that the nuclear deal has carefully been reviewed and endorsed by many governments, the UN, think tanks and policy makers, a hundred former ambassadors, and renowned scholars including 29 key nuclear scientists and Nobel laureates in the U.S. and beyond, is refuted rhetorically by highly vocal and well financed groups, such as AIPAC the Israeli directed lobbying organ and their cronies/allies in the U.S. governments as well as Israel cabinet itself. Whereas the American national public opinion is guardedly supportive of the deal, most skeptics and cynics have not even bothered reviewing the deal to propose alternatives short of yet another unilateral preemptive costly war with no end. They are on the record that if they break the deal, they own it. The era of such war mongers goading the U.S. into repeated protracted wars of no end, as in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya just to name a few recent ones, does not any longer hold up. Moving forward worldwide, a multi-national diplomatic discourse, followed by smart sanctions targeted toward culprits and NOT an entire nation, must be exhausted internationally before the U.S. or any other nation immaturely resort to an all-out military provocation.
The deal guarantees Iran will not develop nuclear weapon. The next phase is to declare the entire region a nuclear weapon free zone. That inextricably requires reigning in Israel to decommission its 400 nuclear warheads that are loaded onto intercontinental missiles. If Israel still aspires to be finally accepted as an equal and not superior family member in the region and beyond, it must dismantle its nuclear weapons and amicably resolve the Palestinian dilemma. No one can argue against the merit for Israel to safeguard its secured sovereignty. However, that must not any longer rely on Israel’s subversive accumulation of nuclear warheads, espionage and meddling in the internal affairs of any other nations, the U.S. a blithe case in point, and especially against its only staunch historical ally, the U.S. Israel must also avoid the systematic mistreatment and blatant violation of human and basic rights and criminal activities against millions of Palestinians under its occupation. If such misbehavior were to continue, the most negative ramifications will be to hurt Israel itself and the Jews all over the world, which amounts to substantially more than any damage inflicted on the Palestinians. Notwithstanding the international community must declare one secular country under UN protectorate with 20 million Jewish-Palestinian and other citizens.
Israel since its inception 70 years ago has anchored its existence on awakening the conscience of humanity witnessing the Eurocentric holocaust, killing six million Jews. Hence, Israel has immensely benefited from unequivocal military, diplomatic, scientific, and technological and trade contributions by the U.S. as its sole protector. Again one cannot question the close alliance between the U.S. and Israel. That said however, the sovereignty and security of the U.S., the most powerful super power in history, must not any longer be compromised by fringe elements in Israel to hijack the U.S. government through massive lobbyists such as the AIPAC and fifth column agents through financing congress/senate elections or un-seating those who remain steadfast on placing the U.S. domestic and foreign policy foremost and before Israel’s ulterior motives. Interference and meddling in the internal affairs of any sovereign government, let alone in the U.S., by a so-called ally, Israel, is against all international diplomatic norms, reprehensively unconscionable, illegal, and must stop immediately. If not halted, this in the long run will make Israel most vulnerable. It will once again jeopardize the survival of people of Jewry everywhere, especially in the west–the U.S. where anti-politicized-Judaism is silently entrenched. Except fringe southern Christian ideologues who herd the people of Jewry and Israel to self-destruction as they believe, according to the Bible, the mass killings of the Jews returned to the promised land will expedite the occlusion of their messiah back to earth to establish the kingdom of God, the majority of the Americans are silently resentful; they fully understand the catastrophes Israel has caused in the region and against the national interests of the U.S. through their exploitation and control of the U.S.. Take for instance a recent Op-ed titled “Jews stood up to the U.S. Government forth years ago and should again on Iran” by Natan Shransky in Washington Post. As an ex-soviet scientist refusenik born in the Ukraine and immigrated to Israel, he prescribes how the US foreign policy must be carried and implicitly instigates the American Jews to follow their party line emanated from Israel. The fact that he does not any longer feel the same justice he struggled for all his life in the Soviet Union for Jews, should not apply to Palestinians or others in his new neighborhood is moot and thus irrelevant. No wonder the Jewish American senior senator Chuck Schumer follows the order and declare opposition to the nuclear deal, and as he clearly gives the signal that if anyone among the 535 dares to dissent or even remain ambivalent, he or she will not be reelected!
In fact, there is increasing evidence, especially during economic hardship when Americans are gravely concerned about the exorbitant military and financial support of their government for Israel. They further abhor the taking of the American government and its system hostage by Israel and their fifth columns in America. The recent politically expedient and appalling release of the Israeli master spy Jonathan Pollard after less than three decades (he had to serve life with no prole) is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Israelis controlling powerhouses in the U.S. Such overt or covert activities by Israel or its fifth columns in the U.S will jeopardize the very essence of sovereignty and security of not only the U.S. but also Israel itself. Israel has received huge amounts of support from the U.S., complemented by additional billions of tax exempt dollars sent in by nearly ten million Jewish Americans, many with dual citizenship and dual allegiance at best for nearly seventy years. Accordingly, it has far surpassed its young statehood and must now act as an adult State and thus be waned of such disproportionate support which is direly needed inside the U.S., especially for the middle class carrying the heaviest tax burden.
It goes without saying that a civil society must safeguard the practice of faith and religion by its individual citizens. However, as soon as a religion, be it the Islamic doctrine in Iran and Saudi Arabia, the Judaism in the state of Israel, or the fundamentalist Christianity in the U.S., use religion as a business-political powerhouse, such politicized religiosity must be subjected to the same level of secular scrutiny as any other political doctrine. Accordingly, Israel cannot expect other countries to consider its Jewish- driven politics sacrosanct and thus immune from any scrutinized critique; the notion of anyone questioning or criticizing the Israeli policies labeled as anti-Semitic is ludicrous. One can argue Israel itself is the biggest anti-Semite, having committed some of the most heinous crimes against its own Palestinian Semite step-brothers. Mass genocide of the innocents by anyone and under any circumstances must be immediately deplored by the international community, stopped at its roots and its culprit perpetrators brought to stern justice Designations is not proprietary to one incident or one race or ethnicity, be it genocides or holocaust against six million Jews killed by German Third Reich, the two million Armenians and Assyrians and more recently hundreds of thousand Kurds killed by Turkey, or the tens of millions killed in China and Korea by Japan, or the Rwandan mass killings, or the Bosnian-Herzegovina ethnic cleansing by the Serbs, etc. they are all equally catastrophic, and must be decisively dealt with as crimes against all humanity and the culprits brought to justice. One killing is not more sacred than other. The above notwithstanding, people of Jewry know well they have been saved on three historic times occasions by the Persians and will continue to be welcomed home to Iran with open arms and warm hearts forever.
And finally, according to numerous national surveys, the Americans’ approval of their government remains at an all-time low in the single digits. Hence, before the U.S. is once again faced with a bloody revolution, the nation must radially use civil discourse and reform to fundamentally realign its foreign policy. The more balanced U.S. foreign diplomacy must be reshaped with American national security and sovereignty derived from every sovereign citizen and not the corporate world or other counties; energy, environment, economic development, and justice must also be the basis. The sustainability of a growing middle class with a dignified quality of life and equal access to the essential hallmarks of a healthy society for food, healthcare, shelter and education are the bare minimum. The era for ever intensifying billions of dollars, financed by special interest groups, super PACS (501-C-4), and above all other country’s lobbyists as the case is by Israel, is detrimental to the long term integrity of the fabrics of America.
