Almost all indications are that America will take military action against Iran, and just like with the mistaken invasion of Iraq, more region-wide chaos will be the aftermath. We are one false flag operation from war.
In my recent commentary, “The Selling of the War on Iran”, I made some very serious accusations, which may or not be true. Maybe a second 9-11 Commission Report is required. I am sure Iranian authorities would not need much persuading to host, fund, and facilitate everything required for this second report.
However, let’s get back to the issue of war, which if we were to assume is almost inevitable, then why not give peace a chance?
My proposal is that a Peace Summit takes place (at Persepolis?) with the Dalai Lama and Pope Francis as mediators, and with the following in attendance Trump, Netanyahu, King Salman, Putin, Xi, Merkel, Modi, and Abe.
This Peace Summit would not be a place to negotiate but to look into each other’s eyes before the decision is made to start bombing. My hope is that once Trump and Netanyahu experience Iranian hospitality and see the country up-close it will defuse tensions and possibly lead to a peaceful resolution of ALL difference between Iran and the American-Israeli-Saudi axis.
What do we have to lose? The lives of hundreds of thousands? And trillions of dollars in destruction?
Yes, of course, I am dreaming, but dreaming about peace is far healthier than having nightmares about war.
In memory of John Lennon, here is the classic Give Peace a Chance. Make sure to sing along.
