Iran has warned the US in an official note that any hostile action in the wake of the false accusation of Tehran’s role in a recent attack on Saudi company Aramco’s oil facilities will draw an “immediate” response from the Islamic Republic.
Iran on Monday sent an official note to the United States via the Swiss Embassy in Tehran, reiterating that the Islamic Republic has not been involved in the strike on Aramco oil installations in Saudi Arabia.
“Iran has not been behind the Aramco incidents, and we deny it (any involvement),” read the letter.
The official note has also made it clear that Iran will immediately respond to any military action, warning that such a reaction will not be confined to the “source of the threat”.
The Yemeni forces on Saturday launched drone attacks on two plants at the heart of Saudi Arabia’s oil industry, including the world’s biggest petroleum processing facility.
The US has accused Iran of involvement in the attack, alleging that a number of cruise missiles have been fired from Iran at the Saudi targets. Iran vehemently denies the claim.
