Today, March 8 (17 Esfand), marks the International Women’s Day. Supporters of Iran’s women’s movement, along with supporters of the Green Movement have planned to take to streets of Iran today at 4:00 p.m. Needless to say, then, a variety of government forces have also planned on taking to the streets today.
Nobel Peace Laureate Shirin Ebadi has invited Iranian women to come to streets to defend their rights. A group by the name of Rah-e Sabz-e Omid has also invited the Green Movement supporters to protest the arrests of Mir Hossein Mousavi, Zahra Rahnavard, and Mehdi and Fatemeh Karroubi.
