Christopher Plummer talks about his latest role playing Russian writer Leo Tolstoy in the film The Last Station – which has generated talk of an Oscar nomination.
The film is a historical drama in which Plummer plays an elderly Tolstoy opposite Dame Helen Mirren. Famous for his book ‘War and Peace’, this film focuses less on Tolstoy’s literary works and more on the human drama in his life – particularly his marriage.
