Have you ever noticed that as soon as you get comfortable with your IT guy and everything is going smoothly and you don’t call him/her as much because s/he has solved all the major problems s/he is suddenly replaced?!
Nothing is more SUCKS! We’ve all come to like Fooad who despite being the IT guy would also participate and be one of us. He was always polite and helpful. Suddenly the new investors couldn’t afford him! I got the scoop from Faramarz who got the news from Fooad’s agent who is also Howard Stern’s agent who recently re-signed another 5 years with the SIRIUS satellite radio! Howard Stern was rumored to have signed a $100M contract 5 years ago and were rumors that he had to take a paycut for his renewal.
Apparently Fooad’s contract was up for renewal by the end of 2010 as well and when he was told that he had to take a paycut the gentleman that he is gave a 10% discount and said he’d agree to $90M. I admire his willingness to negotiate and willing to take a paycut instead of a raise which was really in order!
But as we all know by now the new investors wanted more paycut which is beyond reasonable since his agent is telling Faramarz that Fooad is highly regarded in Iranian-American places like Ebay, Google and bunch of other Silicon Valley IT companies and will actually get a 10% raise instead of 10% cut which he gave in good faith!
I actually got a sense of the new IT guy earlier this week when I ran into a problem not being able to post a photo in my belog. So I called the help desk and instead of the usual calming voice of Fooad some guy with a hoarse and heavy Iranian accent answered by saying; GOOD MORNING EEERANIAN DOT COM MAY I HELP YOU? VAT DO YOU VANT?
I told him I can’t upload a photo to my blog and he said THAT’S OK JUST BELOG VITHOUT A FOTO! I said no I want the photo it is part of the blog, is Fooad around?
FOOAD? WHOSE FOOAD? I AM NEW AND AM BY MYSELF AND THE OWNER IS ON VACATION SO NOTHING CAN BE DONE, JUST BELOG VITHOUT THE FOTO!
I said but the holidays are over and we’re in 2011 and the owner is always on vacation! WHATEVER, I DON’T KNOW, I HAVE TO GO NOW, MY OMLETE IS BURNING!
So here you have it folks, don’t expect any help or anything and if there is another cyberattack on i.com like it happened last fall don’t expect any quick resolutions! I DON’T HAVE STOOX-NET TERAINING SO YOU HAVE TO WAIT TILL WE GET A SUBCONTERACTOR!
