A short vignette by Jila Nikpay based on a yearlong correspondence with a young Iranian man (poem by Sohrab Sepehri, vocal improvisation by Amir Kiani). Through his writing and imagination he copes with the ominous presence of the state in the life of its citizens. The film is made in response to 2009 political uprising in Iran, called the Green movement. In partnership with IFP Minneapolis/St. Paul and the Walker Art Center. Twin Cities Public Television presents 3 one-hour shows of Minnesota-produced short films. The MNTV project is funded by the Jerome Foundation.”
