"How do your drawings relate to people?" Bidjan Assadipour
was once asked. "This relationship is like that between people
and their photographs. The difference is that pictures display
people's physical appearance while drawings present their inner
feelings as well."
"I was born in Anzali in 1946. When I was six years old,
we moved to Tehran where I continued my education until graduating
from Tehran University. My career as an artist began when I started
submitting satirical writings to Towfiq magazine. Later
I continued to collaborate with Towfiq as a member of its
editorial board. This lasted until 1969 when the journal was closed
down. Since then, I have been drawing as well as writing."
