"Sex was familiar. But love... love was another country."-- Dorothy Allison

there is no sense

to loving you

or spreading

tokens at your feet

for i have become

nothing but a

severed arm

strewn among wartorn

rubble

a structure

once tall and

mighty

that now requires a

rescue mission

did i ever stand

tall in the windowpane

view

of some great skyline?

did you see the

smoke from the

carnage billowing

up

floating burnt

paper scraps

into your green

backyard?

that bit of life

meant something.
