The Iranian

These are graphics done on old photographs from turn-of-the-century Iran. I was browsing two volumes of these and thought to myself, "Heyfe ke dast-kaarishoon nakonam!"

But really, they are a great chronicle of our recent history and deserve to be showcased in a new medium. (Besides RP has been rather quite lately and I didn't want my digital paintbrush to get dry.)

The pictures are taken from two volumes of Antoin Sevruguin's works. One published in the US, Sevruguin and the Persian Image. The other, containing more photographs, was published in Iran in 1999 by Barjesteh and Zaman Publishers (available at the Mehrabad Airport duty-free shop).
