A night letter

The Iranian

On the other side of the world
someone
is searching my soul
with his huge telescope
looking for
a bright spot.
I want to admit my loneliness:
It doesn't diminish my sorrow
however
the beauty of this night
may double.
This is how I heal
the wound of loneliness.

What is the source of light?
The answer is distant
so distant that it frightens me.
In the future
I know
many more stars will be discovered
galaxies of stars.
Our nights
however
do not get brighter.
