Photo essay: Home of the Forouhars

The Iranian
Most of the photos in this
collection were taken in the room where secular political activists
Dariush and Parvaneh Forouhar were murdered by Iran's state security
agents on November 22, 1998.
The victims' daughter Parastoo
was preparing for a ceremony marking the murders. She has condemned
the judiciary for holding secret trial for the 10 agents allegedly
involved in the killings.
"The show that Iran's
judiciary put on in the name of justice was a double blow against
the dead and those left behind," she told 2,500 gathered
at a mosque in Tehran. "It was an oppression of a nation
seeking justice."
