No "real" Persian left
I am writing in regards to John
Johani comment on Siamack Baniameri's "Quit
whining". I always look forward to reading Siamack Baniameri's
articles and enjoy his great sense of humour, which is cleverly interlaced
with the Iranian way of life.
Mr. Johani's response is quite sad, if not offensive and racist. He needs
an awakening and stop living in a self-made dream. The "glory"
of the Persian empire 3,000 years ago has nothing to do with the Iranian
culture of today!
Mr. Johani is the typical Iranian Mr. Bankameri is referring in his article.
He whines and blames it all on Arabs. I'd like to tell Mr. Johani that
there are no true Persians any more. After 3,000 years and numerous occupation
of foreigners such as Arabs, Mongols, Turks, Afghans, Russians, British
etc, the Iranian gene pool is nothing anywhere near those the Persians of
3,000 years ago, nor is our culture and behaviour.
I guess Mr. Johani is referring to is the achievements of Iranians around
the world, which contradicts his own "let's blame it all on the Arabs"
reasoning.
Mr. Baniameri's article is a true reflection of the likes of Mr. Johani,
who blame our problems on others. For Mr. Johni's information, Iran's a
few achievements in the fields of science and literacy were after the Islamic
invasion of Iran. The Persian Empire of 3,000 year ago has nothing to show
but capturing vast lands, and maybe freeing Jews from Babylonian, which
is what one would expect from Persians of the time who were Zoroastrians
and believed in God.
Mr. Johani is the reason we can have humorous articles such as those
by Siamack Baniameri. We are only to blame for what we are and how we behave
and what we do. As the saying goes, "ze keh naalim, keh az maast keh
bar maast"
