The regime is sultanate and incapable of reform -- Akbar Ganji

In a radio interview with Masoud Behnoud and Enayat Fani from the BBC recorded on June 6th, Akbar Ganji ridicules the presidential elections as a show and says democracy is impossible under the current constitution. >>> Listen

Last week Ganji returned to prison after a week-long vacation and resumed his hunger strike. In his writings prior to his incarceration, Ganji exposed the role of Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and other high-ranking officials in orchestrating the murders of prominent intellectuals. Recently, he has also been strongly criticical of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
