In Support of the Peaceful Demonstration Against Violations of Women‚s Rights in Iran

For years we have witnessed the peaceful efforts of activist women in Iran for their equal human rights. Unequal treatment of half of the Iranian population is undoubtedly one of the most important reasons for lack of equilibrium and freedom in the Iranian society.

We believe that extension of justice to all corners of social life, entailing the realization of Iranian women‚s just demands in their capacities as workers, mothers, sisters, daughters, and citizens, will aid in the progress and stability of the Iranian society as a whole.

The undersigned hereby declare support for the peaceful demonstration, to be held by Iranian women activists on Sunday, 12 June 2005 in front of the main gate of University of Tehran, protesting violations of women‚s rights in the Iranian Constitution and other existing laws of the country.
