How did Jews do it?

Dear Hassan,

The Jewish people will be celebrating the 5,767th year on this earth! Who would have believed this possible? If anyone had told Abraham that his people would be around this long he probably would have been astounded.

Imagine, the Jews did this without beheading anyone, without a single suicide bomber, without kidnapping and murdering school children, without slaughtering Olympic athletes, without flying airplanes into skyscrapers, and without bombing the train or bus station in Spain and London.

The Jews lasted this long despite 400 years as slaves in Egypt, 40 years of wandering in the desert, the mighty Roman army who nailed them to ten thousand crosses; despite the best efforts of the Christian crusaders, the Spanish Inquisition, Hitler's third Reich, Stalin's gulags, five Arab wars of annihilation, 100 years of Arab and Arafat terrorism, and 800 hate-filled UN resolutions!

How did Jews do it? They did it by concentrating their efforts on education, love of family, faith, hard work, helping one another and a passionate dedication to life no matter what evil befell them!

The Jewish people hang in there in hope the rest of the world would one day overcome its hatreds, jealousies, violence and join them in a life of cooperation and mutual respect. This is what the Jews pray for with all the strength in their hearts while Muslims go to their mosque every Friday to be taught by so called "leaders" to hate everyone else by chanting "Death to America" and "Death to Israel".

Can you expect any more from a nation that all they are being taught all their lives is hatred instead of tolerance and love for others who happen to be very decent people but have a different religious believes than them?

The Jews are not demonstrating with their dead on the streets, yelling and chanting and asking for revenge; the Jews are not promoting brain washing the children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non Muslims.

The Jews don't hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics, the Jews don't traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death to all the Infidels.

The Jews don't have the economic strength of petroleum, nor the possibilities to force the world's media to see "their side" of the question.

Perhaps, if the world's Muslims, Hezbollah, Hamas, specially Al-quada could invest more in normal education and less in blaming the Jews for all their problems, we could all live in a better world. Comment

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
