Your life is an example for all
You lift up my heart
Inspire me to act
To follow your path

You have raised worldwide attention
To the plight of the people of Burma
With your diligent and untiring work

I am enriched and stirred by
Your commitment to peace and justice
Your dedication to non-violent change

You are the rightful leader of Burma
Yet, you live as a prisoner of conscience

I think of your painful sacrifices
Your separation from your family
Your imprisonment at home
For more than a decade
Without any charges or a trial

You are a brilliant light
You are my hero
May you be healthy and have a long life
I salute you
