    Cover Story

    Not funny
Cartoons from a now banned newspaper

A couple of months ago these cartoons were introduced as evidence by the prosecution to support their demand to close down the liberal "Jame'eh" newspaper. The paper was eventually banned but its original editors and writers started the daily "Tous." In mid-September, that paper too was shut down for "undermining the Islamic Republic." These cartoons were reprinted in the monthly news magazine, "Payam-e Emrooz" in Tehran last month. Thanks to R. Khadem... GO TO FIRST CARTOON
