"My work reflects the traceless obliteration that threatens human
life at every moment. It expresses this reality in terms of the anxiety
and loneliness human beings experience in the face of the lack of any refuge.
I use the transparency of sheer fabric to evoke a feeling of transcendence
beyond the physicality of images. The shadows that cast by the fabric blur
the distinction between spirit and matter- reality and imagination- without
denying an underlying duality." Marjan Karim has been living and working
in New York as an artist for the last 10 years.
