in Tehran

When I traveled to Los Angeles along with the national
Iranian soccer team in 2000, I was warmly welcomed by different
Iranian groups. One of these was the IMAN foundation. Seeing fellow
Iranians in an Islamic center strongly contradicted the general
perception of the typical Iranian in LA. It was as shocking as
a cabaret in Tehran.
