* Rumi on PBS
Niloo Soleimani writes: On Sunday, September 26 at 11 p.m. on KQED (PBS
station in San Francico) will be airing a program called "Rumi: Poet
of the Heart". I just saw it and it's excellent. It will also air
on Sunday October 10 at 6 p.m. I just saw this movie at the Rafael Film
Center. Check local listings of PBS stations in other U.S. cities.

* Demonstration against death sentences
(International Federation of Iranian Refugees) -- An Iranian revolutionary
court secretly handed down death sentences against four unnamed individuals
for their participation in the student demonstrations last July. In response,
an Iranian refugee organization will hold a demonstration next week during
the opening of the United Nations General Assembly. The demonstration will
take place at the UN Dag Hammarskjold Plaza (1st Avenue and 47th Street
in Manhattan) on September 20, 1999, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

* Urgent need for bone marrow
Our very good friend, Amir Ghazanfarian, is in dire need of your help.
Amir, who graduated from Stanford University last October with a PhD in
Electrical Engineering, is suffering from an acute case of Lymphoma. He
needs to receive a bone marrow transplant within the next 30 days. I urge
you all to please help him by doing a simple blood test. Please note that
it will take about two weeks for your test results to appear in the Bone
