Amazing... once more, we see a short film about the social injustices of masses in Iran and struggles of women, and every one changes the story so it is about them. For folks who live outside of Iran (in Canada or US, etc) and have crappy lives, then go back to Iran if it is so much better. Why are you sitting here and expecting the Canadian and US governments do this or that for you? The tools, however difficult, are there for you to haev a life. Things are not perfect in the North American region but com'on... at least you have a CHOICE to do something with your social, academic and personal life. Politically, well…. That’s another story but we are not talking politics on this. We are talking about a ferocious epidemic that has hit the daily lives of many Iranians. And unfortunately, the way these mullah's are controlling the masses, there is not much any one can do inside or outside of Iran to remedy this situation. I'm not sure if they are upset about prostitution or Iranian prostitution. This is so sad BUT it is hard to not see passed the political bias because a Canadian woman is doing it. I agree with Ehsan. It is very biased and out of context. Most documentaries try to show the situation and have the images speak for themselves without judgement. We saw no instance of anything the filmmaker was conjecturing about Islam and what they do to women. The only Islamist woman shown was the woman with maghnae who was trying to save a young baby from a druggee mother. The narration was designed to arise western passions about women being victimized in Iran. No mention of large number of women who support the system and operate Islamic charities. I wish it was less biased, it could have been more helpful in addressing the actual problem.

A dear friend and colleague walked to my cubicle this afternoon to talk about my earlier comment. He expressed disagreement, in a civilized way. I write this for him and those like him.
I do know that prostitution out of despair is a huge problem in Iran. So is the severe sexual depression among Iranian citizens. And, no doubt, all these are good topics for journalists to report on, which is something all kinds of journalists do everyday. It is an easy subject after all. Especially when one resorts to emotionalism.

• When this documentary starts by referring to the revolution and the turmoils of the early 80s from the narrator's specific point of view, and relates it to the phenomenon of prostitution, I say it is politically charged. Regardless of whether I agree with that view or not. I am simply stating the obvious.
• When that political view is repeated one way or another throughout the film, I suspect that there is some political agenda involved. It is a nobrainer. Regardless of whether I agree with that agenda or not.
• When the director chooses a sensational and emotional style for her film, when it can easily be felt that some of the situations or monologues are not authentic but induced, then it is well fit for a network that is known for sensationalism. An network that has a right wing agenda for invading Iran an is ever hungry for sensationalist material that help preparing public opinion for going to war. Such network is called Fox News.
