Reza Pahlavi not mindful that bringing death and destruction to innocent civilians is the ultimate in terror

Neo-Con asset
by Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich

Once again the neo-cons have given Reza Pahlavi a platform, but it is not clear who the intended audience is. The feigned altruistic appeal in his speech bears an eerie resemblance to the rehearsed Iraqi appeals before that country was invaded. Those appeals cost over one million Iraqi lives. This is a well-written speech, disguised as it may be, to convince. Whether the speech was delivered to persuade the American public of the necessity of intervention and war or the purpose of it was the alienation of Iran’s Arab neighbors, much like his father had in favor of Israel, one can be certain that Norman Podhoretz has given it his blessings, if indeed he has not been the writer himself.

It must be recalled that the events of 9/11 and the tragedy that struck America transformed George W. Bush. On November 19, 1999, Bush the candidate delivered a speech at the Ronald Reagan library at Simi California saying: ….. “And let us have an American foreign policy that reflects American character; the Modesty of true strength, the humility of real greatness.” However, 9/11 prompted him to turn over the foreign policy of the country to the neo-cons who had been waiting in the wings for decades, and who had planned the assault on the Middle East for over a decade. They were ready with a response and in effect, they hijacked the American foreign policy.

On September 20, 2001, Mr. Bush’s assertions were that the United States would pursue global terrorist groups and any nation that harbors or supports terrorism. His National Security Agenda (2002 NSS) was quintessentially neoconservative calling for preemption. Underlying the Bush foreign policy is the assumption that the use of military force to overthrow non cooperative governments in troubled areas is the remedy for terrorism; a page from neo-con D. Perle’s book “An End to Evil”.

Pahlavi invites an attack on Iran by stating that “Iran's clerical regime's continued support for terrorism”.

For neo-cons it is easy to push their agenda and convince the general public that the policies being implemented are based on American values as so many of them have careers in the media or academia (they developed a close tie with Georgetown Center for Strategic Studies among others). One such promoter of American ‘values’ is Benador Associates. Benador Associates arranges their TV appearances and speaking engagements, and helps to place their articles in newspapers. Ms. Benador, the founder of Benador Associates, along with Senator Liberman is busy promoting Reza Pahlavi (Lieberman endorsed McCain who likes to sing Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran). It is worthwhile mentioning another very prominent Benador client and Reza Pahlavi’s colleague and promoter.

Michael Ledeen, the contributing editor of National Review Online has endorsed the "Total war strategy" - His idea is advanced through Benador Associates. “Total War Strategy” was first put forward by Adam G. Mersereau. Ledeen writes: “The method used to destroy Iran, as known in the neo-con circle, will be 'Total War'. A total war strategy does not have to include the intentional targeting of civilians, but the sparing of civilian lives cannot be its first priority ... The purpose of total war is to permanently force your will onto another people group.” See Guardian

Pahlavi calls the regime in Iran terrorists, aware that such definitions will draw the US military into a bloody battle for the preemption doctrine. He is not mindful of the fact that bringing death and destruction to innocent civilians is the ultimate in terror.

More importantly, language is the best tool for political and social dominance. Those who ‘own’ the language can use value-laden terminology to their great advantage and ‘define’ the other. Terrorism is the definition given by the neo-cons to those they wish to master. It is only relevant if one heeds it. The intellect is often sharper than the biting words. However, it would seem that Reza Pahlavi has felt the need to adapt to his inferior position and adapted to the prevailing definition of social order by trading status for security.

Reza Pahlavi must also know that Iran’s history is filled with a pattern of external powers collaborating and destroying the country’s advancement in its nascent stages at every turn, whether technological empowerment as in the case of the railway, or socio-political, such as democracy and the nationalization of oil, or the current self sufficiency in seeking nuclear technology.

He should recall that after the concessions granted by the Persian government to the (Russian) Discount and Loan Bank of Persia for the construction of the railway line Julfa-Tabriz (1913), the ‘allied’ forces in line with Winston Churchill’s advice, forced the man who had built it, his grandfather, Reza Shah Pahlavi, to abdicate and leave the country. Iran’s democracy and its oil nationalization movement of 1951 to 1953 under Mossadegh were brought to an end by the British with the help of the CIA-backed coup. His father owed his throne to the CIA, it is worthwhile mentioning. Today, it seems that Reza Pahlavi is asking the same favor from similar groups.

And his lack of understanding of nuclear power…

Pahlavi should know that at the Iraq war created a pro-natalist atmosphere. Families were even given incentives to have more children. In addition, the war caused immense damage to the infrastructure prompting the new government to rethink its position about starting up the nuclear power plants. Furthermore, according to Saad Rahim, an analyst at Washington consultancy PFC Energy claims that Iran needs to diversify its energy needs in addition to a change in its policies, otherwise, "Iran's net crude exports could fall to zero." But since Pahlavi’s concerns are to please the neocon bosses, and to convince the American people that Iran is a threat, the truth is being concealed.

On every continent nuclear and radiation techniques are put in the service of humankind. Recently, it was witnessed that due to a problem with a Canadian nuclear reactor that produces medical isotopes used to diagnose and treat cancer and cardiovascular disease, patients in Canada, U.S. and other countries had their tests and treatment postponed. Since Pahlavi is in the U.S., he is no doubt indifferent to the plight of the Iranians and their welfare.

Iranian nationalists have asked the world at large, America in particular to leave them alone. Pahlavi has no love for Iranians, much less an understanding of them. Even the Cuban-Americans who have held the foreign policy of this country towards Cuba hostage for decades, do not have the audacity to select a leader and have someone represent Cuba from exile. A self-appointed traitor who has surrendered his reins to the neo-cons does not speak for Iranians.

First: Mr. Zion: Christopher Hitchens is not one who would be considered as an expert on Islam. In fact he hates Islam passionately. He is against all religions and will say anything to discredit all of them.

As such, for your own benefit I would look at other experts before you make such a ridiculous comment.

Second: On the matter of Israel - when Israel kills innocent civilians with its F-16, and F-15 fighter jets, it uses the shameless word "collateral damage", while it labels the rest as "terrorists". Israel is one country who without the support of the U.S. all of its leaders past and present would have been tried for war crimes.

For many years now, American political leaders of both parties have declared themselves staunchly committed to Israel and its security. This unparalleled devotion to Israel – which is an expression of the Jewish-Zionist grip on America’s political and cultural life – seems to have reached an apex in the current administration.

In an address to pro-Israel activists at a convention of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), President Bush said: “The United States is strongly committed, and I am strongly committed, to the security of Israel as a vibrant Jewish state.”

President Bush’s worldview is shared by Condoleezza Rice, who served as his National Security Advisor, and is now US Secretary of State. In a May 2003 interview Rice made the astounding statement that the “security of Israel is the key to security of the world.”

It’s difficult to imagine an American leader making a similar statement about any other country. Imagine a US Secretary of State saying, for example, that the “security of Nigeria is the key to security of the world.” Or, that the security of Russia, Taiwan, or Serbia, is the key to security of the world. It’s unthinkable.

So yes, Israel commits the greatest crimes, but its staunch supporter is always there to protect it, while every act conducted by others labels such people as "terrorists".

Mind you I am against all forms of terrorism conducted by state, organization or an individual.

Palestinians are the oppressed, Zionists are the oppressors. Any arguments?

Israel could not do genocide of Palestinians because besides the trouble it could cause them, that would literally put them as the level of the one they hate most, Adolf Hitler. Any arguments?

When Lebanese kills two Israeli soldiers as they try to capture Israeli soldiers to exchange for the long forgotten Muslims in Israeli jails, Israel does not destroy a whole country entirely to get even! Reminds me of the time when the Czech resistance fighters killed the Nazi Reinhard Heydrich and the Nazis destroyed an entire Czech town to get even with them. See a similarity here? Nazism=Zionism Any arguments?

Now who is the one twisting the facts and lying?

Facts and logic

So the reason Israel does not kill civilians is because she is afraid of world reaction according to you. (Why precisely should that be according to the bizzaro world you guys inhabit? What happened to this huge Jewish conspiracy which controls the world as Kamran so much wants every one to believe based on the interpretations of events by such revered scholars like David Duke?*), and then you go on to say that Israel actually did kill all these civilians. So which one is it? If you stopped distorting facts so much, lying so frequently to everyone and to yourselves, you might manage to write one or two paragraphs that would actually make some sense and show at least some internal consistency. Just saying.

Zion is right, Jews are morally superior and better people

by AnonymousAntiZionist (not verified) on

Israel warned people before dropping bombs in lebanon (total BULLSHIT), and Israeli pilots have a consciousn as opposed to "arab brothers" that are just like vicious animals. Israel doesn't want to kill anyone. It only "defends" itself by "attacking" other people's land and "keeping" it civlized for them. Israel is so good that it is willing to sustain damages and it does not fire back.

But why is it that the number of INNOCENT CIVILIANS (not terrorists, not army members) killed are five to eight times higher for arabs than Israelis? Why is it the number of LITTLE CHILDREN killed 10 or 20 times higher for Palestinians and Lebanese compared to Israelis.

It is Arabs' own fault. Israel doesn't "want" to kill children, but it always does just by accident. These children are not the victim, it's THEIR OWN FAULT that they live where the bombs are falling and I guess don't answer the phone when kind-hearted Israelis try to warn them to escape. That's how dumb they are. Arabs die in greater numbers, living in fear, NO ARMY, NO SECURITY, and NO PROTECTION. But they are the aggressors!

ISRAEL IS ALWAYS THE VICTIM. IT CAN NEVER DO WRONG, ONLY "DEFEND" HUMANITY AGAINST ANIMAL ARABS.

Got it!

I've already told you that I do not support any suicide attack against people. Believe as you like.

I know that Israel could really kill Palestinians if they wanted to, but that would lead to massive international condemnations (including US) and a possible cutoff of US aid to Israel. This would accelerate the downfall of your Zionist regime. Not to mention of any other 'unaccounted for' things that could result.

Please stop telling me about the most recent war in Lebenon! With all the 'caution' that Israel had it cost the lives of over a 1000 innocent people in Lebenon. Let us not even mention the massive number of cluster munition you guys dropped over there that did not explode and it is now killing people one day at a time!

Okay Zion. If you promise me not to take over my land, not to evict me from my home, not to put me to slavery, do not take away my rights as an equal human being and do not oppress me, I'll promise not to hurt you. Don't worry about blowing myself up in front of you. That's not my style.

Zion

Mr. Iranian

`Also the old Jewish and Christian books have been altered by humans. The Holly Qu`ran has not.` I don`t want to blow your bubble but that is not true about Koran. I can see why you have to insist on such a ridiculous claim. It is the same reason why Islamists keep talking about women dignity and women rights in Islam all the time. The shakier and the weaker something you want to believe in, the more you have to insist it is stable and strong. It`s human nature.
This is a nice talk by Christopher Hitchens on the way Koran was compiled: //youtube.com/watch?v=O5R_-0UO4fs
It actually gets worse, because all of that is still the orthodox and accepted claims of the Islamic tradition. There is already physical evidence that Koran, as any other book in the old days, has actually been altered. It is no big deal really, fully expectable, despite such claims as yours:
//www.theatlantic.com/doc/199901/koran
//www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/JA15Ak03....

`How can you really believe what we can not catch with our senses and can not be determined by the most advanced scientific instrument can not exist?` That is the wrong question. The correct question is this: `Why should you believe something you can not catch with your senses and can not be determined by the most advanced scientific instrument (and is not needed to explain anything in your best scientific laws and theories) does exist?`

`I don`t support and do not like suicide attacks. But... [I actually do]`
Very nice of you. Thanks.
`They may not have F15s, Cluster Bombs, Mossad or guided missiles ...`
And Do you know what Israel does with all this? Do you know what Israel `could` do, but never does? These are needed for defense against the madness your arab and muslim brothers have unleashed against us. Do you remember the 30 day war of Lebanon a year and a half ago? The one in which Hizballah shot rockets from mobile launching sites placed in the midst of residential areas in Lebanon, deliberately towards residential and crowded areas in Israel? Israel had to bomb those launchers, but always had a public announcement before hand specifying clearly where would be bombed in order to prevent loss of Lebanese civilians. Militarily that is an absolutely foolish thing to do. Each time Hizballah simply moved its launchers somewhere else in due time. You know why Israel did this? Because otherwise Israeli pilots of those jets you mentioned would simply refuse to drop the bombs. Compare this if you like with what Hizballah does, or palestinian suicide bombers who fill their bombs with nails to maximize the number of people they can kill when they blow themselves up. How about that?

` I sure know were you stand. It makes perfect sense too. A zionist can not possibly be a true beliver in God.` The notion of God has logically nothing to do with such fairy tales. Besides there are also religious political groups who cling themselves to Zionism so that they would lose no chance, God forbid, to be a nuisance and bother everyone else. As all political religious people do all around the world in various degrees. But you have a point there. Zionism is a non religious movement. Maybe you could convince other Iranians, who for some reason live under the illusion that Israel is just a Jewish version of the Islamic republic of Iran, of this fact you understand so well. Maybe you could do that better than I could.

One more thing. I understand that facing reality is hard and living in a fairy tale is more enjoyable for those who can`t face it as it is. As long as you don`t hurt me or blow yourself up in front of me and others like me, you can believe in any form of fairy tale you like. If those fairy tales can actually make you a more decent and better human being, I can even have respect for them. Just keep them to yourselves and let us live the way we like to. Then peace will come and it will stay.

Iranian- What the Hell Are you Talking about?

YOU SAY:

"Also the old Jewish and Christian books have been altered by humans. The Holly Qu'ran has not."

Are you nuts? Where do you get that from? It only shows where you are coming from. By the way, zion's explanation of hell does not come from "none believers", it comes from the Talmud. So it comes from believers.

Shia Iranians have a very hard time respecting other religions (much harder that sunni's). I know, Kalimis and Masihis are people of the Ketab (book). But be honest and admit that as Iranians (and mostly hard core shia islamists like the IRI) we are very prejedicial towards other religions and beliefs.

Also, look at the state of Islam today. Ahmadinejad said said the other day that Imam Zaman supports the IRI. Do you believe in that statement?

Look at how the Shia and Sunni are masacring each other. Is that Islamic? Is this what people who don't believe in evolution do?

What does it matter what people believe in? FREEDOM OF RELIGION AND FREEDOM OF THOUGH. As Iranians we do not respect these principles and that is why we are getting our asses kicked by the western world; and because of our religious fervor we will get decimated by them because with this though process we pose a danger to the entire world.

Behind the Iran Crisis: The Jewish Lobby's Campaign for War

by Kamran (not verified) on

Neo-Conservatism as a 'Jewish Movement' -Jacob Heilbrunn in his new book, "They Knew They Were Right: The Rise of the Neocons" achieves one important chore: a forthright social narrative of the neo-cons as a Jewish movement (//www.amconmag.com/2008/2008_01_28/review1.ht...).

Both Jewish cabals of neos (Neo-Cons & Neo-Libs) favor a world-dominating American empire, run of course by themselves. We are reminded once again that while there may be, at least on paper, two parties, there is one Establishment. It does not look favorably on ending the games off which it feeds. Then there is the matter of a certain Small Middle Eastern Country (Israel) which likes the war in Iraq, and hopes for a war on Iran as well (//www.counterpunch.org/lind01092008.html).

Well, I sure know were you stand. It makes perfect sense too. A zionist can not possibly be a true beliver in God.

I have heard about that childish explanation of where Hell is before. It is well spread around by non-believers. Do you really believe that something you can not see can not exist? I know there are many stories by Jewish, Christian and Muslim people that are totally baseless. Also the old Jewish and Christian books have been altered by humans. The Holly Qu'ran has not. By the way, that is why non-believers hate Qu'ran and say that it can not be 'reformed'. Because they can not alter it like for example they did with the Bible.

How can you really believe what we can not catch with our senses and can not be determined by the most advanced scientific instrument can not exist? If you told someone 500 years ago about Black Holes or the Crab Nebula or the DNA structure, they would laugh at you and call you names.

The fact is we are here in this world for a purpose. We are not just a freak twist of evolution. There is a just and kind creator known as God and all this known world and the unknown world was created by him and belongs to him! You will meet him when the time comes and I feel sorry for you when that day comes.

Re: Question

by Zion on

Jews were expelled from Jerusalem by the Roman empire that had already annexed Judah (or Judea) after many revolts. About a century later after yet another huge revolt and wars, the Jews were expelled from their entire land and the Roman authorities renamed the land to Palaestina (after the extinct Philistines that were most probably a see journeying people of Greek descent). Jews resided in various places, mainly in Babylon (under Persian rule) and Alexandria. Many of them resided eventually in Europe as well, both from west through Spain (later known as Sephardim) and from east through Caucasus (later known as Ashkenazim). Jews in Western Europe were expelled from many lands many times, like Britain or especially Spain. Some returned to the Middle East. In Europe many eventually settled in Poland, where some Polish princes had allowed them to stay and regulate the monetary and tax systems. Later many also travelled to the new world. Jews of Europe were mostly massacred during the Nazi time, many fled to America (although it was difficult and after some time, entry visas were almost impossible to get) and back to Palestine to join the Zionist movement and reestablish the state of Israel with other Jews from around the world.
I hope that helps.

Zion

Mr. Iranian

by Zion on

If you are really concerned about the fate of the guilty who commit injustice in an after life, I propose you worry about what will become of your lovely palestinians, suicide bombers, terrorists...(including the one who just `went` up). While you are at it, I suggest you worry about the fate of the founders of your religion as well, the massacre of the males of an entire tribe, the enslavement of people, women children in various lands (including your own ancestors).
People who are trying to remain as humane and civilized as possible in the midst of the worst kinds of barbarism they face for simply yearning to return to their homeland and to have a secure place of refuge in a world filled with psychopaths that hate them, won`t be on the top of any such list. Rest assured.

This primeval `fear` of a punishment that you have been conditioned to in your religious upbringing is probably the greatest cause of evil in man`s history. Those who commit crimes under the influence of such ancient brainwashing are its foremost victims.
Contrary to your friend`s assertions I am not a religious person and I do not `believe` in any religious teaching, including Judaism (as a religion). Period. I also encourage you to free your mind from such rubbish. But I can`t help feeling at least a bit of `cultural` pride in the fact that the original thought of my ancient ancestors (as recorded in the Tanach) has no mention of any after life. It was of course deliberate, because afterlife and the fear and obsession about it was the corner stone of Egyptian and other pagan societies. They had the courage to reject this and build a civilization and value system with no need of such conditionings, one that was so successful that forced those pagan cultures to steal and adapt its surface cover as a defense mechanism. That is the origins of Christianity and Islam.
(The Rabbinic teachings of the Talmud do contain afterlife and a temprorary period of hell, unfortunately. The result of the darkness of middle age mentality over the entire region of Middle East and Europe. Nonsense is nonsense no matter where you find it.)
Ever asked yourself what the most common word for Hell, Gehanna or Gehinnom (Jihanam in the later arabic versions) (in Rabbinic, Christian and Islamic tradition) means?
You want to see where it is? It is a valley near Jerusalem (Ge is Hebrew for valley, Hinnom is the name of some guy.) It is said it was the place where pagan tribes performed chid sacrifice rituals for the god Chemosh, by burning them alive inside a hot huge idol of that god. (They still do in a sense over there, don`t they? they use explosives now instead.) That is where this obsession with burning in particular probably comes from. Now a days, It is actually quite peaceful and beautiful. Here take a look:
//www.what-the-hell-is-hell.com/HellPhotos/
You might read the rest of the site as well:
//www.what-the-hell-is-hell.com/HellSiteIntro...
It seems it basically focuses on Christianity, so is not directly applicable to the Koran and Islam, but basics of Koran (especially about afterlife) are basically a Middle Ages rip off of Christianity anyway ( I told you, the root of your type of belief is in the Middle Ages).
Or better yet, you can read the great Persian thinker Omar Khayyam who says it best and in the most humane and eloquent form in the middle of the middle ages. (His poems are very similar to many of the psalms and the original book of Ecclesiastes (Kohelet) (omitting the last chapter that is a later addition to make more orthodox.)
Free your mind my friend from such conditionings. The essence of moral behavior, and the real goodness it rests upon, is that it is done for its own sake, because it is the right thing to do. Not because of fear or personal gains. Quite the contrary.

So you should ask yourself: Are you a victim of brain washing from the middle ages?
(I finally answered you, are you satisfied?)

Hezbollah Mourners Shout "Death to America! Death to Israel!" at Mughniyeh's Funeral

Hezbollah declares "Open war on Israel" at terrorist Moughniyah's funeral.

Naharnet has the latest reports from the funeral of Hezbollah terrorist Imad Mughniyeh today in Beirut:

4:30 Amidst chants of "Death to Israel, Death to America," Mughniyeh's coffin was taken out of the vehicle, carried on shoulders and the procession progressed slowly through the slums of south Beirut.
4:05 "Hajj Imad is beloved by Allah," mourners chanted shaking clinched fists in an expression of anger.
3:43 Mughniyeh was proclaimed a "Martyr of Allah" as his coffin was carried on shoulders for the last journey.
3:35 Nasrallah vowed that "we will proceed with the resistance until total victory is achieved."
3:32 Nasrallah accused the March 14 alliance of seeking foreign armies to fight for them.
3:27 Nasrallah said the "Zionists killed Mughniyeh in Damascus outside the confrontation terrain ... if you want this kind of open war, let the whole world hear it, let it be open war."
3:15 Nasrallah said the blood of Mughniyeh would bring Israel's end.
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki arrived in Lebanon on Thursday to take part in the funeral procession of Imad Mughniyeh.

Abu Kais at From Beirut to the Beltway had this on terrorist Imad Mughniyeh whose funeral was today in Lebanon:

Hizbullah, which spent years trying to publicly disassociate itself from the man, is now mourning him as a resistance leader, vowing revenge and what have you. To now claim that he was an active member of the group is to finally admit to being an international terrorist organization that never really "changed" after the end of the Lebanese civil war, as many had convinced themselves. Mughnieh was practically an Iranian intelligence operative, and was linked to attacks in Iraq and Saudi Arabia. His assassination left Hizbullah exposed. The group that could no longer argue for the holiness of their weapons, could no longer claim their theater of operations is restricted to Lebanon.

Iranian-

Mr. Zion

by Iranian- on

Many years ago when I was a student, I attended graduate school for two years in New York City before going to another university in another state. There were many Iranians who studied there and one of them was a Christian Iranian lady. This lady was not a fan of Jews and on occasions she badmouthed them. Well there are some people like that, but what surprised me most was that a year later, she married an American Jewish man! I learnt later that the guy she married was rich so I guess she preferred a secure life to her former beliefs. Many of Iranian students from the school were invited to a celebration gathering in their home later and I was one of them. In their home, I saw many bookshelves filled with books. Amazingly, most of the books were related to the oppression of Jews under the Nazis and throughout the history! So I asked her new husband, why is it that you guys support Israel? He smiled and said, that there might be a time that Jews may not be able to live anywhere and we need a place to go when that time comes. At the time I didn't realize it but now it is all clear to me. He was a nice person but probably could not see underneath the surface of things clearly. That is probably why he married a person who obviously had hidden her thoughts from him. But doing that might or might not hurt him in this world only. What can really hurt him most is his belief and support for the Zionist cause. Why?I am a strong believer in the afterlife and the good deeds we have in this life will either send us to Paradise or Hell. So from my point of view regarding this poor Jewish man is that he himself a victim of the Zionists he supported! Supporting the oppression of people whose religion is different than his so that there should be a Jewish state is WRONG! He was scared for his life and his future in this world so much that he wanted to close his eyes to the injustice brought upon the Muslim people of Palestine.

So you might ask yourself the same question. Am I a victim of Zionism?

You are right.  I should not have been presumptuous on you level of understanding, but your sarcastic remark about people’s agenda was not relevant to this post, although, in general, I agree with you that everyone, on Iranian.com has an agenda and hopefully everyone is trying to be truthful and on the side of sound logic based on facts, instead of resorting to slogans and slander.

Ms. Molchany, sets herself up as an unbiased scholar who is arguing a fine point, a technicality, based on her reference to Tabari, of whether Iranians were converted at the physical tip of the sword or the virtual sword.   She, in a subtle way, rejects Boyce’s conclusion and embraces Toynbee’s.  But all of that is academic and acceptable, but when she comes to her treatment of Shafa, she insinuates that he is biased or may even be dishonest since he was paid by the royal court.  Under such guises I have to wonder what her agenda is, so I can determine if she is on the side of truth or if she is trying to slander Shafa, based on her politics.  Shafa references Toynbee, Tabari and about another 100 sources, and I have referenced not only Boyce and Shafa and Hertzfield (from Shafa’s book) but also Zarrinkoob and Sir Percy Sykes, in addition to Rafi’ haghighat.  Because of the irrational and irrelevant link she made, it makes me suspect her intentions and how truthful she is.  She is trying to disqualify Shafa by linking him to the Shah, knowing full well, that may be argument enough for a lot of Iraninas on this site, who blindly hate the Shah, to extend that hate and mistrust to Shafa.  She is careful to disguise her intentions by saying he is a “worthy scholar” at the same time.

My intentions are to get to the truth and share that truth with anyone who wants to share them with me and check on their validity and analyze them for themselves.  We should all be prepared so we don’t get taken advantage of and taken for a ride, again.

“Iranians and Israelis connect online” - My Interview with Nana

By Kamangir •

I talked to Ido Hartogsohn of the Israeli website Nana last month, about the Persian blogosphere and how its members manage to communicate with Israeli fellows despite all the tensions between the two countries. The piece was originally published in Hebrew, but Lisa Goldman has been kind enough to translate the whole piece in English. The title is “Are the deepening connections between the Israeli and Iranian blogospheres the way to peace?“. Read the rest on Lisa’s blog.

Update: Maverick News Media comments on the piece.
