Shouldn't what you said be true in total opposite? Meaning  people who are FORCED into this, [i.e. by poverty, sex slavery, etc etc] rather than one who chooses to sell her/his body for money?

I personally hold more respect for a prostitute who is doing what she does out of desperation, than one who does it out of pleasure or out of being lazy to do other things that he/she is capable of, i.e tending bars, or waiting on tables.

This has more to do with degrading woman than freedom of choice. The entire porn industry is based on  exploitation of women, men and sadly enough, sometime children.

It would be more appropriate if you make your comments within the context of the iranian culture more than its american equivalent.

There is a world of difference between women who have had a clean and decent past and those who have not and that is an indication of the great and positive environment that the former were brougth up in.. It is great that women who have made mistakes in the past, feel like as if they are ready to do the right thing and walk on the right path, but can you really trust them to not repeat those same mistakes? Don't you think that they are more statistically more inclined to deviate from the right path and repeat those same mistakes?

This is not just an issue of who makes the better wife and then making the comparison between these women and men who might have had a shady past. This is about a deeper trust issue and the possibility of whether these women would trash somebody's life in the future despite their claim of being morally cleansed!

I agree with you about that. I disagree with what you said about not taking this up as a moral position personally, though. That's what everyone here is doing. Making their own moral judgments about whether thsi is right or wrong. That's perfectly normal, and I suspect we would see a similar discussion on any webiste in the US if such a topic was brought up. Nothing wrong with this sort of debate at all. The only problem is when people attempt to force others to comply with their own version of morality.

PS-I disagree with the people who say porn stars aren't "marriage material". In American culture, people are not so hung up on the past and care much more about the present. There's nothing that says an innocent and deeply religious virgin is going to be a better wife than somebody with a more... colorful...background, who has learned from her mistakes.You think guys are all perfect and have never made mistakes? have never done anything that they are ashamed of? Which guys are those?

I do understand and agree with your point about the other extreme moral hypocrites also. It's like another blog when a Pro-IR reader was outraged at "vandalism" of Khamenei's posters with green paint but the same person has never expressed any outrage at the vandalism of human body and hearts by the regime that he supports.

On another note I was not even addressing Zeba's situation from a moral stand point as I often try to leave that to the individual but I was addressing the spreading culture of it is OK to commercially exploit the young girls and boys for sexual enjoyment as only a fun thing to do. There are a limited few who actually start this way and make it to better positions within entertainment industry,modeling or promotions but most just get abused and thrown away.
