by iraj khan on Sat Mar 21, 2009 11:10 AM PDTfor your understanding and for your compassionate message of friendship. Eide shooma ham mobarak Mr president. This song is dedicated to the Iranian and American people, by Al Green:
to pro-peace
by Arya manesh (not verified) on Sat Mar 21, 2009 09:37 AM PDTYes. Obama is trying for peace but being peaceful doesn't mean not fighting terror if necessary. He is with the iranian people but againts the entity of republic of Islam in Iran. He will not deal with this theocratic terrorist govt in Iran unless they stop terrorism and as you know they will not stop terrrism for they thrive on terrorism and misery of others. In other words withought terrorism and misery of Iranians the Iranian govt will not survive. all of us know that.
yes, Actions and not words
by Anonym7 (not verified) on Sat Mar 21, 2009 08:36 AM PDTWell said rainbowcountery, Israeli extremists, by far the worst terrorists in the middle east, need to be put on leash. Sabotage of Iranian economy (through sanctions) needs to stop ..... threat of war against Iran needs to be totally taken off the table.

Thank U but no thanks ... Happy new year
Obama is trying for peace
by Pro-peace (not verified) on Sat Mar 21, 2009 06:11 AM PDTThat is more than can be said about iran's leaders.
Their big emphasis is censorship of truth.
I doubt iranian citizens get an accurate view of world events pertaining to their country.
Usually, religious fanatics try to maintain power via censorship.
Regardless of using the word
by Arya manesh (not verified) on Sat Mar 21, 2009 05:36 AM PDTRegardless of using the word "Islamic Republic", I think Obama is more against terrorism than even Bush was.The difference being that Obama is smarter than Bush and will fight terror in more effective ways> If nothing works then war will be an option. He (Obama)said that he will not deal with the Republic of Islam as long as they support terror. In conclusion I think the sanctions will never be lifted since the Republic of Islam in Iran will never stop terrorizing Iranians and supporting/financing the Islamic International terrorism and terror groups abroad.
Actions and not words
by rainbowcountery on Sat Mar 21, 2009 05:32 AM PDTContain Israel and get the F*ck out of M.E then we can listen to what you have to say
A long, long time ago, We really believed in all the bull-shit Freedom democracy crap that came out of US.
Not anymore not since Iraq
I was ready to put my life on the line for my country a few years ago, I am ready to do it today
… Iran is Middle East ... and M.E. is Iran ...

Nothing's Gonna Change
by Big Fish in Small Bowl (not verified) on Sat Mar 21, 2009 03:25 AM PDTBefore you all get all excited about Obama's Norooz Greeting, take a deep breath and count to ten because that is about how long it will take His Excellency the Grand Poopah of the Islamoworld, Ali Khamenei, to give Obama, his Administration and the American people the finger! His mantra, Marg bar Amrika, hasn't changed during the past thirty years and it won't in the next thirty years. Don't hold your breaths cause nothings gonna change.
Norooz Pirooz.

Israel my foot.
Nothing but crazy, hatefilled zionists, who are being rejected world over.
This man, Obama, is the real deal. A thoughtful and disciplined leader we can all rally behind. May his blessings lead the entire world toward peace.
This is a fresh start, but we need actions not words
by Anonymous8 (not verified) on Sat Mar 21, 2009 01:18 AM PDTIran has lived under threat of foreign attack for 8 years now. much bigger and more creadible threats, we need those threats to stop for mutual respect it's only natural.
nice try zion: Bush' babbling nonsense does not even compare to Obamas respectful speech. nobody wants to see his face anymore.
hmmm...
by tsion on Sat Mar 21, 2009 12:56 AM PDTThe only difference between this message and similar ones in previous years (like this one:
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVmOaSrL2-o&eurl=ht... )
is this one sentence:
"The United States wants the Islamic Republic of Iran to take its rightful place in the community of nations."
[Peres has a similar message, without the stupid and pathetic suck up to the Islamic Republic, and of course he immediately becomes a War Criminal.]
and we see the crowd here jump in joy! Yet some of them still claim they do not support IRI, that they hate it or whatever.
Funny.
Zion
IR idiots
by David ET on Tue Mar 24, 2009 07:16 PM PDTIR idiots have defined message of President Obama as "an effort to divide the IR leadership as well an attempt to isolate Iran in the world community" !!! .
Instead of responding with positive attitude AS USUAL they have reacted with negative nonsense remarks such as :
"Minor changes will NOT end the differences"
"Do not be carried away. Do not be fooled by this man, Obama...He is as harsh and he is as dangerous and he is as much against Iran as George Bush. . . . Obama is disguising his policy against Iran.' "
The Iran/US hostilities are self-creations of Islamic Republic which in it they seek their own regime existence and therefore they have reversed every opportunity of friendship with USA to empty slogans and nonsense which in turn has hurt the Iranian Nation in to isolation for the the past 30 years.
There is one PRIMARY reason for the differences among the two nations and that is: The Islamic Regime in Iran who still continues to instigate friction instead of friendship.
Iran is no different than its neighbors who have good relationships with USA except that it is ruled by "leaders" who pursue hostile policies, terrorism and atmosphere of war and friction.
Right on!
by Monda on Fri Mar 20, 2009 09:42 PM PDTAhhhh breath of fresh air... so smart, grounded and handsome.
Thank You Obama...Eide shoma mobarak

President Obama's greetings for Norooz
by Abdy (not verified) on Fri Mar 20, 2009 09:23 PM PDTWhat an intelligent man, what a president. He truly deserves to be America’s president. Americans finally made the right choice.
When past American presidents spent millions to make the world hate US and validated Oscar Wild’s comments about America, when they spent millions to change regime and failed, when they wasted billions to achieve superiority and failed, Obama uses plenty of wisdom and intelligent, mixes the outcome with a pinch of love and achieved everything for America that others failed to find through threat and arrogance.
President Obama, may I thank you for your words, and return the complement by wishing you, your loved ones, and every American, good health, happiness and a prosperous 1388
I just can not believe all
by Parvin (not verified) on Fri Mar 20, 2009 08:16 PM PDTI just can not believe all this ooh and ahhh about this message. Have you all lost your mind or your gheirat? Have you forgotten about all innocent people killed in iran? You just jump up and down for Amoo hosein's message! shame on all of you. No wonder we are what we are. I rememeber my history teacher told us many years ago that" iraniha poyouz hastand!" i didn't what it meant then but I know now. Shame, shame, shame you are going to carry a very bad karma for years unfortunately.
This is the difference between a "LEADER" and a "CHEATER"
by Majid on Fri Mar 20, 2009 07:05 PM PDTThis is how a "LEADER" talks.
Where the heck are Dubia and Dick head to learn a thing or two?
Thank you Sir and happy Nowruz to you and your family.
Peace for world
I think Obama is even more
by Arya manesh (not verified) on Fri Mar 20, 2009 06:52 PM PDTI think Obama is even more against terrorism than Bush was. The only difference being that he is smarter than Bush and he will fight terror in a logical way. He said that the Islamic Republic or Iran must stop terror and he means it. I don't think that the sanctions will be lifted unless the Republic of Islam changes it's pulicy of terrorizing Iranians and stopping the International Islamic terrorism. But I think the only way the Republic of Islam can survive is through terror and thriving on the misery of others and as long as this continues the sanctions will remain in place.
yes, how about removal of sanctions? (well said Q)
by Anonym7 (not verified) on Fri Mar 20, 2009 06:19 PM PDTyes Q, how about removal of sanction? Removal of sanctions is not only in the interest of Iran but also in the interest of U.S, Iran is a huge market that can help U.S companies, specially under current economic conditions.
Eidet mobarak Q, and good year ahead of you.

Tashakkor az lotfeh shoma va Farsi-e shirine shoma!
You did well.
Your choice of Saadi's poem was most appropriate and your specific literal translation of it, "Children of Adam" drives homes the point of unity among the Abrahamic religions.
You respected and treated Iranians as equals today, and we thank you for that.
But compliments can only go so far, how about lifting sanctions against our people?
Khoda-hafeze shoma...
i couldn't be any prouder of our president
by anonymous fish on Fri Mar 20, 2009 04:56 PM PDTthan i am now. to hear him express what the american PEOPLE want instead of what those criminals have tried to do the last 8 years truly gives me hope. i hope it's a two-way street and that iran responds in a like manner.
peace out.
Barakallah Obama!
by Michael Mahyar Hojjatie on Fri Mar 20, 2009 04:47 PM PDTI didn't vote last time because neither candidate impressed me quite enough, but I'm glad Obama is taking the stance he has on a very important issue to all of us! McCain's "Bomb-bomb-bomb, bomb-bomb-Irranne" foolishness is now definitely looking like just that, pure foolishness nobody was amused by!
Hamegi Noroozetoon Pirooz!
Not too shabby
by Kaveh Nouraee on Fri Mar 20, 2009 04:40 PM PDTNice gesture. Especially the added touch with the "eid-e-shoma mobarak" at the end.
I'm pretty sure some dolt in a trailer saw that part on his TV set and yelled out to his wife:
"Lurleen, did you hear that? Obama's speakin' in tongues! They was right! He ain't no American! Lasso up the youngins, we're movin to Mexico!"
Problem is, he repeatedly referred to "the Islamic Republic of Iran". I know it will just antagonize those whose noses are embedded firmly in alimentary canals of the IRI, but history has proven that attempting to engage these certified morons in a legitimate straightforward manner results in failure.
The IRI has already blown off this video as a joke. Not because the video's a joke, (it's actually a nice gesture, albeit slightly misguided), but because the IRI is honestly not interested in any relationship. If there were to be improved relations with greater freedom of movement between Iran and the U.S., then Iranians at home will begin to see how they've been screwed and oppressed with greater clarity than ever before. And do you think the IRI wants the truth to come out?
All these goons want from the U.S. are apologies.
Mr. Presdent, it's a nice thought, but kindly save us from the mental masturbation.
This is our moment, this is our time...
by Alahazrat Hajagha on Fri Mar 20, 2009 04:17 PM PDTYES WE CAN celebrate Nowrouz together and hope for peace.
