AFP: Hundreds of protesters demonstrated Saturday in New York and pacifist groups took to the streets in dozens of other US and Canadian cities in a "Day of Mass Action" against a possible war with Iran. About 500 protesters gathered in Manhattan's Times Square and marched to the headquarters of the US mission to the United Nations and to the Israeli consulate. "No war, no sanctions, no intervention, no assassinations," read a banner leading the march >>>

A state of war only serves as an excuse for domestic tyranny.--Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.

by Soosan Khanoom on Mon Feb 06, 2012 11:16 AM PSTgreat quote.
thanks for posting.
we need never choose
by vildemose on Mon Feb 06, 2012 11:07 AM PST"we need never choose between imperialism and fascism; we must unequivocally opt for the third choice, which has proven its efficacy historically and is much less costly no matter the sacrifices it requires: fighting against domestic despotism and US imperialism simultaneously (and the two have been in most cases one and the same force), and supporting home-grown struggles for democratic transformation and social justice that are not financed and controlled by the oil tyrannies of the Us-backed Islamists in Iran."

Mr. Gilani
by Albaloo on Mon Feb 06, 2012 10:10 AM PSTThe shaved Research subjects may be compensated for the time and effort they devote to clinical studies. In addition they will be treated as VIP if they are among the Pro-War crowds. The Pro-War ones are an extremely rare mutants ( Genetically speaking ). It has been said that their mutation is due to the severe exposure to the HollyJewWood blockbusters.
One more reason to not go to Times Square
by Anonymous Observer on Mon Feb 06, 2012 10:08 AM PSTthe tourists, the Olive Garden, the Disney store, the wired sidewalk preacher and now these dubious characters.
That being said, isn't America great? Everyone has a right to express herself. Also, there's nothing wrong with being anti-war. But these people...hmmm, something is up. That fast talking woman in the report...doesn't she remind you of a couple of regulars on IC?
:(
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Mon Feb 06, 2012 09:58 AM PSTWell I'll have a shave for you then. So long as you promise it would not lead to an anti-climax such as your time square "demo"...
"Personal business must yield to collective interest."
Mr. Gilani
by Albaloo on Mon Feb 06, 2012 09:52 AM PSTI would be happy to do so but, unfortunately, the hairy ones have already been extensively researched and the result has been published in the prestigious peer-reviewed journals.
For us to have taken these folks
by Raoul1955 on Mon Feb 06, 2012 09:50 AM PSTSeriously, they should have displayed banners with the following messages:
1) No to islam;
2) No to Gender Apartheid in Iran, or elsewhere;
3) No to Suppression of Speech in Iran;
4) No to the 'acceptance' of sharia in Iran, or elsewhere;
5) No to forced hijab for women in Iran, or elsewhere...
So says Ayatollah Raoul's cardboard thingy. :-)
:)
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Mon Feb 06, 2012 09:47 AM PSTYou can use me, your hairy subject, whichever you want, using whatever tools, in chicago, time square or preferably at Motel6, Chula Vista :)
Mr. Gilani
by Albaloo on Mon Feb 06, 2012 09:43 AM PSTI was not there. I live in Chicago.
Typo

Men are the best fools that
by Albaloo on Mon Feb 06, 2012 09:40 AM PSTMen are the best fools that can be used as a great research subjects.
Mr. Gilani
by Albaloo on Mon Feb 06, 2012 09:08 AM PSTWith all due respect. Could you please, instead of nagging, take your time and organize a Pro-War demonstration which secures your job here in the U.S as well as a possible key role in the future Iran.
How do we know this was
by vildemose on Mon Feb 06, 2012 09:05 AM PSTHow do we know this was organized by NIAC? Can someone provide a link?
A state of war only serves as an excuse for domestic tyranny.--Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
If this was organized by NIAC
by Faramarz on Mon Feb 06, 2012 08:58 AM PSTYou could fill a phone booth (like the one that Superman changes into his uniform), if this was organized by NIAC.
In a democracy people have the right to come out and express their wishes, even if they are completely clueless about the facts.
Yet another bitter anti climax for me....
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Mon Feb 06, 2012 08:55 AM PSTafter Looking forward for weeks to join in with masses of valiant anti war iranian.com contributers to oppose war on my country in beautiful time square, only to find a gathering of a few dozen pimps, prostitutes, transients and elderly anglos (anglo for credibility..) tempted by the promise of a free big-mac meal (super sized), augmented 2-1 with FBI agents to oppose the killing of the bassiji "scientist" and a sanction on our beloved leader, ali khaamenei's oil exports.
How about some cardboard demonstrators next time? The'd do it for free and would be more genuinly against war and for peace than this crowd...
I agree partly
by Milan on Mon Feb 06, 2012 08:49 AM PSTI agree, no war because it kills and destroys. But shouldn't there be at least some pressure on Iran to conform to international human standards? Show this clip to all those tortured prisoners in Evin and Gohar Dasht.
Good Question Maryam
by masoudA on Mon Feb 06, 2012 08:11 AM PSTI won't be surprised if all this is arranged by IR through NIAC.
Good
by Abarmard on Mon Feb 06, 2012 08:07 AM PSTNice. Good job
No Sanctions Either?
by Maryam Hojjat on Mon Feb 06, 2012 08:06 AM PSTJust let IRR kills Iranians and Plunders Iranians' resources the way done in 33 years . Is this arranged by NIAC?
