SATIRE: The Burqa Republic of Our IRANICAN Dreams ;0)
Any way No hard feelings ... Despite our differences if any ... I respect your choice, understand and may share some of your frustrations but in the end of the day complaining is easy and it has led us nowhere to date.
Everything in it's own time ... Our struggle against the IRI is not merely about holding elections or a democratic discourse as if we were living in some wonderful western democracy around election time ... The people running our country for the past 3 decades are SHARKS not innocent harmless candidates to a given election !
So let's not discourage those who regardless of their shortcomings are trying to do something constructive.
Lastly I think Only those enjoying one can speak of multiple Choices ...
For I'm afraid those back home don't have that "luxury" ...
As for those who try to have one they often see their dreams shattered against the Rocks ...

by ham1328 on Tue Sep 04, 2012 08:16 AM PDTI'm all for a democratic and unified front to fight Iranians common enomy, the IRI. My problem is, when democracy comes out of the mouth of Pahlavis, their dark past record speaks for itself. Post IRI, which is close and coming, I will support a free and transparent ellection, conducted, perhaps by UN or any International body, including everyone, from Reza Pahlavi to every group or political party, as long as they support the rights of everyone and respect an approved democratic constitution. I hope I made myself clear.

So no need to be grandstanding when lecturing me on an era you clearly never lived under.
Dunno how old you are or from which planet you are speaking from ( I'm sure Armstrong could tell ... Sorry I can't ... ) but clearly you like your likeminds are talking on a period you either were too young to remember or are one of those Post Revolution generation Schizos who was brainwashed into believing any crap fed to them by your own intellectually bankrupt ex revolutionary parents added to the IRI propaganda machine.
Then I guess probably following the Post Election Crackdown, you suddenly realized that your Joon Jooy Republic was not such a "Behesht" your former "Presidenteh Mahboub" Khatami claimed it to be but rather the unreformable shit hole it always was from Day On.
Hence given that you didn't live under the Pahlavi rule you bought Stephen Kinzer's "All the Shah's Men" and then came up with the Humpty Dumpty Conclusion that Iran was a Perfect Jeffersonian democracy it never was some 60 years ago ...

So you problably ended up living in the very "Corrupt" West ( The YOU ESS OV A Perhaps ?) you loath so much and relish in criticizing whilst pretending to be one of those "openminded" Liberal "citizens of the World" lecturing about how you understand the benefits of "democratic discourse", probably after following one or two courses on Gene Sharp :

by Arj on Tue Sep 04, 2012 05:10 PM PDTThe pageentry and hoopla surrounding RP's every appearance (both from the pahalvi worshippers and IRI suporters) is mind boggling! What is with all the commotion? Here is a mediocere social/political figure, albeit making some valid points, bringing up arguments that have been made by countless others in the past 34 years about known facts with regards to the criminal nature of IRI!
Yet, due to his celebrity status, he receives more attention (or is it obsession?), not only from Radio Israel, but from both extremes, than anyone else, even those more qualified and experts on the issue of HR -- e.g. Abdolkarim Lahiji and Shirin Ebadi, just to name a couple!
When are we going to learn to react based on issues rather than emotional investment?!

by tehran e Azad on Tue Sep 04, 2012 07:37 AM PDTI don't know about others but I like Reza Pahlavi's democratic views , but I never liked/friended him or any other pahlavi on face book.I regularly go to Iran every year , and I dont want to give IRR a reason to throw me in jail or kill me. Does that make sence?
Doesn't matter who comes to power( Reza, hassan , hossien , bardia, korosh , taghi , naghi ....maryam , fatemeh , farah , ava.... etc there is always going to be some people that will hate and talk sh&t about that person no matter who that person is. So my suggestion is instead of worrying about how many supporters this person or that person has to unite against the common enemy( unless you are the enemy.....
Khamenei has millions of supporters, mousavi has millions of supportes, reza pahlavi has millions of supporters, x, y, z also has millions of supporters, thats why when there is a free election you will truely see who or what ideology has the most support, the rest of it is just BS!

Okay, I know not everyone in Iran, has facebook, but millions of Iranians are froced to leave Iran and have facebook. Even millions in Iran have the site, but where are they?? If an AKHOOND like Karoobi can get tens of thousands of more likes than SHAHZDEH REZA, then you tell me why he is not popular in Iran and among exiles?!!!
SHAH ONLY LOOKS GOOD AGAINST A SEVENTH CENTURY IDEOLOGY! Isn't that a shame? National Front had democracy in Iran 60 years ago, Shah, CIA, UK and Mossad killed it. Oh, western education, Iranians can STILL come to USA or other western countries for educatoin, it's just harder to get a visa.

Low 'Discussion?'
by Demo on Mon Sep 03, 2012 05:44 PM PDTWhy is that any discussion with 'flaws' in one's character is interpretd as 'private matter' or getting involved with one's family issues? If had really been money disputes between Reza & his deceased brother, as some news indicated right after the suicide, shouldn't Reza go forward with his explanations to clear himself up? And what if Farahnaz's life is at stake now, would not somebody do something to save her life?

Decency is still a virtue.
