Dear Sargoot, Civilian targets and tracking back to 1915 or 1941

by Alicias on

Civlians!

I understand what you are saying but all the hijacking of airlines, torturing of Lebanese Jews,  attacking Israeli civilians (missiles targeted at residents, many terror massacres at resaturants, shopping centers aboard busses via Hamas), and/or use of Lebanese as human shields are civilian targets! So are Afghanists victims of the Iran's helping Taliban, so are ordniary Iraqis by Iranian experts training Iraqi terrorists.

Not until Hezbollah/Hamas will (copy Israeli precuations and) start notifying Israeli residents of one certain area to evacuate before a strike... we can then start comparing the sides.

The (1994) AMIA community building -for example- was a "military" target? The French embassy was a "military" target? the Paris shopping centers were  "military" targets?

1915, 1941?

When you say inflicted by the US, (Did the US routinely attack civilians?) you probably mean "as a result of US action," that's something else, there's then no real limit to such a broad phrase, one can say that the entire M.E. conflict is as a "result" of the British colonialism in the area (which is partly true), or the fault of the Nazi-Mufti (Haj Amin Al-Husseini) who met Hitler (in 1941) and planned genocide in the M.E. (long before Israel had a re-birth of a state). Or 1915 - the fault of the Turkish Ottoman Empire that became radical and intolerant of Christians, comitting the genocide on Millions of Christians (Greeks, Assyrians, Armenians), that impaced the M.E. towards Islamic intolerance, with that infamous Mufti serving in the Ottoman army...  Or how about the 1860 milestone at the massacre of Christians in 1860 Syria/Mount-Lebanon that began a trend of anti Infidels in the region?

You don't separate military

by Sargord Pirouz on

You don't separate military conflicts from alleged civilian targeting. You don't include mentioning of inconclusive proof or contrary evidence. And contexts are not mentioned, either.

Just imagine if someone were to list all the instances of military and civilian losses inflicted by the US military and security forces around the world since 1979. With no contexts provided. First of all, that list would make for the longest post ever at IC. And second, it might be considered anti-American.

Now check out the flip-side as it pertains to Iran and Hezbollah, and what have you got?
