Help Free Mohammad Rashidi
by
bachenavvab 01-Mar-2010
Mohammad Rashidi held up the handmade sign, “Fascist president, Polytechnic is no place for you” during Ahmadinejad’s speech at Tehran’s Polytechnic Institute. He has been taken to Evin, has been protesting his condition through dry
hunger strikes and is in danger of execution. Let your local/national officials know with just a couple of clicks. You can use the text of the message provided below or use your own words.
[email text for officials or the Amnesty International office]
"A brave university student is in danger of execution in Iran and I respectfully urge you to help him and demand Iran to free Mohammad Rashidi. During a speech by Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Rashidi held a handwritten sign, “Fascist president, Polytechnic [Institute] is no place for you.” While his action was well within the Iranian constitution, he has since been taken from his home and remains in prison in dire condition. He is protesting his condition with hunger strike; he is being tortured and is in danger of execution. As an American Iranian, I appeal to you to do what you can to pressure the Iranian government to let this brave freedom loving young man go.
Respectfully,"

People like him are the gems we could least afford to lose. Brains, love of country and a heart of a lion to go with it. His was a willing and conscious act of defending a nations's honor.
