IRANIAN SOLIDARNOSC: Nazanin Afshin Jam Goodwill Ambassador for Democracy and Human Rights

Nazanin Afshin Jam has been Independantly struggling for Human Rights and Democracy over the years. She recently participated to a panel on Iran at the Canadian Parliament ( see Facebook Link) led by Shirin Ebadi Iranian Nobel Peace Laureate 2003 and has reached out across the Diaspora's Political arena to such people as exiled reformist Fatameh Haghighatjoo or exiled Crown Prince of Iran Reza Pahlavi who are at opposite ends of the Iranian political landscape. Afshin Jam's Independant Stature has allowed her to meet Iranians in the Public eye with a wide variety of backgrounds and particularly Iranians from across the political spectrum who to date refuse or have not been able to cooperate on a common agenda: Human Rights and Democracy for Iran.
Could she be the ideal Goodwill Ambassador who could bridge Iranians at large towards more Solidarity beyond Political Affiliation? What is certain, is that her efforts are commendable and have payed off since she was able to save a namesake's life ( Nazanin Fatehi) and draw international awareness on the predicament of many similar cases worldwide and particularly in Iran her home country.

by hamsade ghadimi on Mon Apr 26, 2010 07:31 AM PDTnot only nazanin is a true patriot, she's a humanist. she quietly goes about her campaign against child execution and continues her committment to public service that was instilled by her family. i'm amazed by her modesty (given her career in beauty pagents) and never mentioning the good deeds (e.g., funding and continued support for baghchehban school) that her family have done for the iranian people.

by Sargord Pirouz on Mon Apr 26, 2010 06:01 AM PDTThe problem DK is that you are attempting to seek an attractive Western-oriented figure to somehow galvanize opposition against the Islamic Republic of Iran from the outside, when really you should be seeking a mainstream, more traditional Iranian figure to integrate with that of the inside.
Integration, not contrariety, is key. Otherwise, you'll simply remain irrelevant to the Meehan for the remainder of your life. Think about it.
