by zolfali1 on Sun Jul 29, 2012 08:24 AM PDTare just a click of my keyboard away to educate my like on democracy. no need for travel to england.
I suggest you take a trip round England villages too
by anglophile on Sun Jul 29, 2012 06:14 AM PDTYour democratic education wouldn't be complete without it :))
anglo jan, i'm still learning about democracy.
by zolfali1 on Sun Jul 29, 2012 06:08 AM PDTin fact that's why i joined iranian.com, so that you guys can tell me what this democracy thing is all about!
but democracy aside, i can tell you, in our village back home, no, in any village within the 200km (about120miles for you!) radius of varamin, mossadegh is the most popular man in the world. Also my trips back home nowadays, since i carry collars, have taken me to more extic destinatiosn (for me) such as esfehaan, tabriz, mashahd, Tehran, Qazvin.... and i can tel you, mossadegh is much more popular back home than your queen, king, ayatollah or "preseident selecet" put together, no matter how many times they jump off that plane, with or without parachute!!
Don't bank on it Zolfali jan :))
by anglophile on Sun Jul 29, 2012 05:45 AM PDTUnlike the other fellow, the Queen has put the duty to her country before her selfish ambitions and also she has been a pillar of British democracy not a pit.
yes, i believe queen is very popular in england.
by zolfali1 on Sun Jul 29, 2012 04:15 AM PDTbut not even remotely as popular as shadravan mossadegh is in iran.
I see your typing is as bad as mine Zendanian jan!
by anglophile on Sun Jul 29, 2012 03:51 AM PDTTheir "regualar" salary is determined in parlimentary democracy which has been copied by numerous countries of the world starting with the then newly made independent American colonies. But even Paine and Franklin stole their calls for independcence from the indigenous American tribes. Some history lesson might help:

Besides, Queen Elizabeth's income pays for tens of thousands of people and staff who work for the royal household. It is less than half of what she used to receive back in 1991.

I know that the concept of constitutional democracy is not easy to comprehend by the supporters of a Communist organisation as Komala!

by yolanda on Sat Jul 28, 2012 09:05 PM PDTThe helicopter "stunt" is the best part of the opening ceremony! The rest of the opening ceremony is mediocre, can't be compared to the Beijing Games!
Sorry!
I do like Vangiles' Chariot of Fire! It is beautiful!
I heard some of the beds in the Olympic village are only 5'8" long! OMG! The beds barely fit me, let alone the basketball players!

That is embarrassing!

Isn't it true that royals do no work, but get a regualar salary?
by Zendanian on Sat Jul 28, 2012 04:02 PM PDTAny other culture in the world , that would be a working definition of a BUM, as; a tramp, a vagrant, a leech.
And all those incredibly dense English citizens (at least those who consider themselves monarchists) take joy in maintaining a bunch of bums in palaces out of their tax money.
All of this in 21st century!

You ARE clever aren't you Zendanian :))
by anglophile on Sat Jul 28, 2012 03:48 PM PDTYes it was a typo as you so cleverly spotted!! Actually the first line of the comment corrected it but too late for me to correct the title as the other fellow has already replied to it :(
Sadly that was the only clever part your comment as you ruined it by showing once again how cluless you are. Sorry old chap :((
Bong Girl? Was she also smoking weed?
by Zendanian on Sat Jul 28, 2012 03:18 PM PDTOr is that a typo?
Come to think of it, perhaps she and her husband both, could use a little Mary Jay, they take themselves a bit too seriously.
After all, all they do is collecting a regular salary for: showing up at events; looking constipated, and occasionally waving thier hands.
Why did the Queen look so unhappy?

by anglophile on Sat Jul 28, 2012 02:35 PM PDTBritons are thrilled with their new Bond girl. Her Majesty's cameo appearance in Danny Boyl'es masterfully created London Olympics opening ceremony last night has received rave reviews from the politicans and public alike. The Queen's debut performance was the most entertaining part of greatest show on earth. The Queen demonstrated to be a truly good sport. In an interview with the BBC Boyle (Oscar winning director of Slumdog Millionaire) described experience of directing the Queen as so easy and added that Her Majesty and her leading man, Daniel Craig got along so well. "She was all charm," said Boyle.
