by ebi amirhosseini on Sat Sep 20, 2008 08:56 AM PDTVery good match you made with Daee Jan Napoleon! As Golmakani has brought it up too,I believe both books became a signature in our minds when they were adopted for script by two great directors.I, a fanatic about anything kermani, though have had read a lot from Moradi kermani before watching majid on TV,but the joy of hearing that sweet accent & the portrayal of a smart boy by the brilliant young actor was uncomparable! in BIBI,I saw my own grandmother ( we called her Amme-bibi),the same sweet accent ,love & patience.
sepaas for your comment dear.
best wishes

by Nazy Kaviani on Sat Sep 20, 2008 08:27 AM PDTI love Ghesehaye Majid! I saw the series first and couldn't get enough of Moradi Kermani's intelligent, compassionate, and nostalgic storylines. The boy and his bibi provided one of the very few opportunities I ever found to watch Iranian TV and to thoroughly enjoy it, not having to dodge propaganda and discriminatory language and demeanor.
Later, I also read the book, which has been an amazing source of entertainment for me for several years, on a par with Daee Jan Napoleon in my library. I remember giving the book to people as presents when I went to their homes in lieu of flowers. Heeh! I picked up one or two fans along the way! I also gave it to my Afghani friend in Tehran who said some nights he and his other friends sat in a room and he would read the stories aloud to the rest.
Ali P. wrote about his love for this book recently. I think anyone who has seen the series or read the book will never forget it. Thanks for reminding me of my gem! Have a good weekend.

by ebi amirhosseini on Fri Sep 19, 2008 07:16 PM PDTThat's the climax of the plot here done by Pourahmad & Moradi Kermani, mixing the innocence of a southern old lady(BiBi) with a smart Maijd & his sweet Esphehani accent !.WoW
