concentrate on the military targets

The US has to concentrate on the missile launch sites on and off the coast of the Persian Gulf to render them useless.  These can be accomplished within the first 48 hours of any operation.  Once these sites are taken out, Iranian defenses which in terms of equipment capability are somewhat in and aorund WW II era would become useless.  The Iranian Nation once realizing that the so called military machine that it has heard so much about has crumbled in a short period of time, will take care of finishing off the regime.

I am not sure if what you say is true. The mind set of many of these Basiji's are not like you and I. They are not concerned about death and destruction. So the war will look very different. We are talking about a full scale Guerrilla warfare. This is not a regular military such as the Iranian Army or Pasdaran. Can the US damage Iran or send it back to the stone age? Absolutely, but then the war just begins and I don't think the ultimate result would be pretty for either party. The looks and designs of war has changed dramatically in this century once a group is willing to sacrifice their lives to get another-while originally the military tries to have the least amount of casualty. Iraq today is a microscopic compared to the militia forces coming out of a bombed Iran! The winner or loser in any war is not a sure thing.

Let's hope this would not happen.

How about the Military in Iraq

US has to consider their military in Iraq, that would be the target of 10 million Iranian Basiji militias. They will retaliate. Hope it won't get to that point!
