Wikipedia: FAT'H ALI SHAH the second king of Qajar dynasty. He last 62 years (5 September 1772 – 23 October 1834) and ruled almost 38 years (ruled from 17 June 1797 to 23 October 1834)
Fat′h Ali Shah had 158 wives, many of them were Zandor Afshar princesses. He had 260 children. Of those, 57 sons and 46 daughters survived him. Just his 10 eldest sons had 333 children. He had, in total, 786* grandchildren, 313 grandsons and 473 grand daughters.
His first son, Mohammad Ali Mirza Dowlatsh, was seven months older than his brother Abbas Mirza (Fath Ali Sha’s Crown Prince), but on account of his mother, Ziba Chehreh Khanoum, non-Qajar origin he was unable to claim the title "Valiahd."(Crown prince).
*By the way 786 is gematrical value of "Besm Allah alrahman Alrahim" it means it was just the beginning
Imagine how many women he would have chased to marry him if he had two healthy legs!

by yolanda on Tue Nov 17, 2009 07:33 PM PSTHi MPD,
I have a question, but I am not sure if it is a polite question. If it is a rude question or if you are busy, please just ignore it. Do you know any non-Iranians, who got their visas and visited Iran? My case is that I am non-Iranian and I have absolutely no relatives there. Is that easy to get a visa? Do they do background check?
I watched this video 3 months ago:
//iranian.com/main/2009/jul/seyed-mohammad-marandi
Also participated the stressful debate :O)), Fareed said that he applied visa to visit Iran and got rejected.....of course, I am not a journalist and I am nobody...of course, I am not going to tell them that I come to IC bashing IRI all the time.....nobody knows my real name anyway.
Another thing, I read somewhere that if you are a tourist, IRI will assign you a "minder" to follow you around. Is that true?
thanks,
Take care!

by yolanda on Mon Nov 16, 2009 06:31 AM PSTI found a head of state with 14 wives concurrently:
//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Mswati_III
The guy is the king of Swaziland. He is Mswati III. Many years ago, I read about him in Times magazine that he planned to have 50 wives......
He may be the head of state with the most wives right now.
FAT'H ALI SHAH is just too much......I have a feeling that 158 women were not his wives, just the women he had one night stand with, I am not talking about the nightstand:
//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nightstand
I am talking about one-night stand, this one:
//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One-night_stand
It is possible that the guy was very bad, he had no self-control, he had insatiable appetite for women. He had one-night stand with many many women, but he scored "direct hits" with 158 women and impregnated them......so he decided to call these women wives and pay the child support....

by yolanda on Sun Nov 15, 2009 08:45 PM PSTHi MPD,
I re-read your poem, but I did not see "shy" and "introvert" in your poem. You said that "Internet is a big Hotel California for the introverts" Were you referring to yourself or majority of the iranian.comers? Be very honest with you, I have seen some super aggressive people including both guys and gals here, they don't appear to be shy or introverted at all, they are ferocious!......it is possible that there are some shy people here, I know for sure I am one of them...in real life I do shun spotlight and I am not sociable....other people I am not quite sure....I have some doubt about you,too,(Sorry) but I like to take your word for it.
Thanks,
Disclaimer: I have no intention to disrespect you, but just want to be honest and speak my mind. Thank you and take care!!!!

by yolanda on Sun Nov 15, 2009 06:52 PM PSTHi! MPD,
Why do you keep saying Hotel California? When you get on Internet, there is no borders, you can blog from anywhere you want....I blogged from Aspen, Colorado (Hotel Aspen).....:O))

by Multiple Personality Disorder on Sun Nov 15, 2009 03:41 PM PSTGo back and read from the begining, from chapter one, lesson one, Welcome Alene. Welcome to Hotel California, the big trap for the introverts. The extroverts are playing outside.

by yolanda on Sun Nov 15, 2009 02:49 PM PSTHi MPD,
I could not believe what I read from your other blog......but this is me, Yolanda, me: I am extremely shy and I am an introvert big time, very insecure person.....Did you ever see me writing a blog about anything? If I go to Iran, I will be glad to take your relatives out for lunch or dinner, they can pick their favorite restaurant, but I have to pay for it, please do not do the taaroff stuff to waste my time. I took my Math teacher and 2 classmates out for Korean barbecue after my calculus class was over (in 2007)...he accepted. I will get together with Syma and her husband also, Syma's husband is British....the lady published her family photos on Payvant....many dfferent pictures....you completely shocked me 'cause you don't act shy at all.....there is no way....
Take care!

by yolanda on Sun Nov 15, 2009 12:35 PM PSTDear MPD,
I am deeply touched by your post. Wow! Iranians are truly friendly and hospitable, no wonder Iran ranks #4 in the world for being the friendliest nation on this planet. I will definitely go even though I have to risk my life to cross the street (I saw the scary video a couple of days ago), I may never make it back! I will go there and shake Iranian people's hands (without gloves) and tell them how much I admire them, they are the bravest people on this planet. The whole world is pulling for them, not just Iranian diaspora, but also the Americans, Koreans, Mexicans, Italians, the Chinese, Vietnamese, the Canadians etc....I am hoping that one day they will have direct flights from LA to Tehran...your post really cracked me up......I think I don't qualify to be any body's wife 'cause I think guys deserve to have something way way better than me!!
Thank you for your beautiful post!
May God bless you!!!

Yolanda, If you decide to visit Iran, I'll tell my family there
by Multiple Personality Disorder on Sun Nov 15, 2009 02:06 PM PST...and they'll take care of you while you're there. All I need to tell them is that you are coming and you're my friend, that's all. They'll treat you like a queen, or a potential wife for someone. Too bad, relationships between Iran and USA is not good right now, otherwise hundreds of thousands of American tourists would have visited there each year.
Disclaimer: This comment should not be consrude as if I am trying to send tourist dollars to the filthy IRI regime.

by yolanda on Sun Nov 15, 2009 07:33 AM PSTHi MPD,
You are sooo funny!! I am totally opposite of you. I will go to Iran to do my other research on polygamy approved by IRI. I have been e-mailing back and forth with the author of this article, Syma
//www.payvand.com/news/09/nov/1107.html
she told me that if I go to visit Iran, I can stay with them....I told her that I don't want to bother her too much.....people like me live a simple life, I don't need to stay in a fancy hotel, I camp a lot here.....she told me that I can just camp in her backyard...the lady cracked me up.....she just e-mailed me last week, she asked me to go to see the gallery in her article myself......
I have bad news for you....if you go to China, I doubt that you can find any polyandry practice there....but you may be surprised by the fact that there are whole bunch bigamist men living double lives there...or I should just call them guys with mistresses...the word "concubine" is outmoded!
thanks,
yolanda
Disclaimer: I am not disrespectful. I respect everyone including the polygamists. (I hate the sin, but love the sinner) :O)))
I'm not sure :o{
by Multiple Personality Disorder on Sun Nov 15, 2009 06:03 AM PSTI think I'll go to China to research the subject matter myself. They need the tourist money anyway.

by yolanda on Sun Nov 15, 2009 12:37 AM PSTHey! MPD,
I hope you got what you wanted,
//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyandry_in_Tibet
but, Tibetans don't practice it anymore...I haven't heard anything!
MPD, I think NPR tries to use some kinky bizarre news to raise its ratings...the polyandry 'news' can make male listeners (not including you, of course, not :O) glue to the radio.....if I find anything new, I will get back to you.
Take care!!!
yolanda
Disclaimer, I have absolutely no intention to disrespect you. I do respect you a lot!!!!

by yolanda on Sun Nov 15, 2009 12:03 AM PSTHey! MPD,
I think you were talking about the matriarchal tribe in China,
//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naxi_people
they practice "serial monogamy" (Sorry, it cracks me up!)
//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosuo
In this tribe, women are calling all the shots, guys are the followers...girls do all the work...guys don't have the financial responsibilities for their children....
I can get more info and pictures later. Thank you for your interest in this topic...but these people don't practice polyandry...these women just have more power than guys.... (Yeah!!!)
thanks,
polyandry
by Multiple Personality Disorder on Sat Nov 14, 2009 11:23 PM PSTThere is a tribe in China that practices polyandry to this day. Every year they have a celebration, the men gather in the center of the village and the women pick their men. For a few years male tourists from outside the tribe would go there to get laid, till the native women figured out they've been taken advantage of. :O) See if you can research it.
P.S. I listen to too much NPR.

by yolanda on Sun Nov 15, 2009 10:32 AM PSTHey! MPD,
I do have a half-cousin living pretty close to me, he and I have the same last name, same grandpa, but different grandma....there is nothing wrong with him. I do respect him! I don't think a child or grandchild should be responsible for their parents or grandparents' mistake... ..my conclusion is that sometimes guys are bad, they just can't handle the temptations..Look what this Persian king did!......I heard about polygamy all the time, but I rarely heard about polyandry! You tell me why!?
Disclaimer, I am not trying to insult you or the Persian king. I am just trying to be very honest here! I do respect you very much!!!!
thanks,
yolanda
Yolanda, You crack me up :O)
by Multiple Personality Disorder on Sat Nov 14, 2009 10:19 PM PSTAre you telling me you're the grand daughter on a concubine :O) Not that there is anything wrong with it.
No, officially there no lesbians in Iran. Aso, there is no car or airplane crashes, no addiction, no corruption, no suicide, no homelessness, no dissatisfaction, no nothing. Nothing "bad" officially exists there.

by yolanda on Sun Nov 15, 2009 05:59 AM PSTHi! MPD,
I agree with you 100% on the following segment, I wanted to write exactly the same thing, but I changed my mind, 'cause I am not Iranian, just a second class citizen here. If I criticize too much, people may call me a hypocrite or something, I really don't want to get deported by IC! :O))

This man having so many wives means he spend most of his time and energy trying to maintain the domestic affairs rather than the affairs of the country.

Great job and thank you!
P.S. Are you sure there are lesbians in Iran? I never heard of it, I heard about gays before.
thanks,
I wonder how many of his wives became lesbians
