@ Nur-i-Azal: Fully agree. I saw a documentary about plants and how they actually feel what the mood around them is and they respond. There are so many other forms of life around us but we as humans are quite full of ourselves! And indeed Earth is speaking, indirectly, to us!

We are only masters of our own ego!

Humans aren't the masters of the Earth

Several indigenous cultures around the globe believe that the true masters of the Earth are actually the plants, not the humans.

More earthquakes like the one in Chile will be coming during this year, the next and the following year. Mother Earth is on the move!

the earth actually sped off by about 1/1,000,000 of a second making a day that much shorter!, Howver, the Indonesian quake in 2004 was even greater and it shortend the day by 8/1,000,000 of a second!!!

I agree with you, I too have the same outlook (i do not see it as dark or dim, just real). All the stuff we worry about on a daily basis makes no difference to anyone in the grand scheme of thing.

Great point.....philosophic one at that too!

The Earthquake in Chile did move the Earth off its axis by a hair and that shaved off a fraction of a second from the 24 hour day. My take on it is exactly what you pointed out: Earth will be around a long time, we are just on borrowed time.  If the equilibrium is tipped by us or any other reason,  Earth corrects itself if it means slowly but surely removing us, unless....!  I know it's a dark outlook but I feel we have a responsibility.  We may think we are the masters but ......, well, you can fill in the blank!
